No state is immune to tornadoes, statistically-speaking, according to National Weather Service records. California definitely gets twisters, mainly in north part. Vancouver, Wa had a killer tornado (in the 80s?), storm crossed over from Oregon.

Sorry for the late reply I am not on here to much anymore. If I recall the storm was right near morgan hill so it is very possible. If you ever think you see a funnel cloud be sure to take cover right away !

I remember this. I was getting a haircut when I heard it over the radio. A friend of mine in Morgan Hill was in class at the time, and he and his entire class had to duck and cover in the hallway.

I think coastal NJ got hit once by a minor tornado back in 2001. I have never seen one before, tornadoes are usually in the midwest.

Actually California does get tornadoes, especially in the central and northern parts of the state.Sometimes when large systems come rolling there can a be a tornado or two. There was just one a few days ago actually. Yeah I know I'm responding to a comment from 8 months ago.

I watch family guy and the tornado warning come on and I just got scared I go to my room and I was crying and my dad come out of the room he said why are you scared and the tornado comes off and its on I scream loud like this AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AND Imy dad said its okay

This is also our Tornado Warning [TOR] system. It was issued for Nrn. Trimble Co., KY and Srn. Jefferson Co., IN.

That's exactly what you do. Stand there and watch the TV while the tornado comes hurling at you. Then the RUG Doctor comes on right after. Like who's gonna care about cleaning your carpet if in 10 minutes you may not have any carpet. LOL!

i always hated the tornado warning sound. To this day it scares me to death when it comes on. I end up cowering under my blankets untill i hear the sound of my program again! i know, im a wimp!

The National Weather Service in The San Fransisco Bay Area has issued a Tornado Warning for: Santa Clara County in Nothern California (this includes the station of Oregonville) Santa Cruz County in Northern California until 2:30 PM PST.

At 2:00 PM PST, National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a Severe Thunderstorm capable of producing a Tornado moving northeast at 35 MPH. This storm has produced Or Size Hail. The safest place to be during a tornado is in a basement. Get under a work bench or other piece of sturdy furniture. If no basement is available, seek shelter on the lowest floor of the building in an interior hallway or room such as a closet.

Use blankets or pillows to cover your body and always avoid windows. If a mobile homes or vehicles, evacuate and then get inside of substantial shelter. If no shelter is available, lie flat in the nearest ditch or other low spot to cover your head with hands.

No idea as we don't have tornadoes generally in the state but If I had to guess I would say down south in the la area because I think they getr more thunder storms down there

There was not a tornado here. It was only a warning but from the looks of the radar it could have easily dumped one.
