I own a very large shop and you can save about 20 mis by spraying a degreaser, let it soak for about 2 mins, they spray off with a pressure washer, and rinse dry. Done

I even do this with whole car seats that are heavily soiled. Hot water in a pressure washer will wash any stain out!

yeah, a few of the dirtiest mats hes done, shit, I saturate with 200 degree extractor water mixed with a fabric shampoo, slam with a air drill with a carpet brush, vaccume, hang to dry and im on my way in 1min to the next floor mat. Im fixed location, in a poor region so I'm routinely getting cars that are pretty hammered, whatever cuts to the chase and attacks it the fastest and most efficent is usually my way

For soiled carpet mats, I spray Heavy duty Greased Lightning on them and wash in washing machine with laundry detergent and a little fabric softener in rinse. They come out beautifully. Saves a ton of work and better results.

In my detail shop we use purple power in a pump sprayer and spray them down, wait 5 minutes and then power wash them. Takes 1/4 of the time and they turn out looking brand new almost every time. Purple power is good stuff. Works great for floor mats, but I won't use a pressure washer on an interior. That's where this thing shines. Punch through, get in the thought spots, and don't drench everything. Quick cleanup. It's as effective as, definitely faster than & a lot cheaper than an extractor, plus it will do the entire interior. The only downfalls are it being a bit clunky & the air consumption.

Informative video for sure to introduce the Tornador to newbies but At this rate I would only get one detail in a day. Vac them, let the solution in the tornador do the rest. No need for all that prep when the tornador is awesome with just the solution. Personally, my shop does 40+ vehicles a week so we use an APC and a pressure washer. Good luck!

Need to ask by learning: Doesn't the Super Degreaser stay in the mats when it drying, since you actually can't get all of it out with the microfiber cloth? I'm using Meg Apc or SD, brus and water so the chemicals are getting away. Then drying them with a microfiber cloth and hengs the up.

The Tornador puts out a significant amount of water, even in vapor form, into the mat or whatever you're cleaning with it. It will saturate the item if you let it. The way the air works in the device is to move the water "through" (if you want to think of it like that) the material so whatever cleaning products are in there don't stay there. I think if you go over it with the Tornador enough, it will get the cleaner out of whatever you're cleaning. It may take some practice to be able to do it without saturating the item, but it can be done.

ryan1540 It essentially get's blown away. And just like every other thing in this world, everything has trade-off's. So far it is of no concern as it has presented no problems, and I would take it over an extractor as a rule any day of the week. The only time I would take an extractor would be for cleaning up extensive liquid spills.

I dont get it. . .so now you have a carpet full of cleaner (and dirt) and you just leave it to dry? how is this different from just spraying the cleaner from spray bottle? its just more air with the tornador right? what am I missing here?! side note, the air from a aircompressor will contain small amout of OIL! so now you have oil in the carpet. . . unless you use a filter that is. . .like car painters do. . .

Two questions: what model is that Ridgid? Second: I already have a serious steam cleaner (Enviromate Viva e40) but I don't have the revenue currently to justify buying an extractor and frankly dislike how much it soaks everything, so would using the Tornador be a good option for carpets (not the mats)?
@autofetishdetail
@autofetishdetail 9 жыл бұрын
UrbanDubsmith Yes, I also use the Tornador on the interior carpeting and upholstery. I still scrub leather upholstery by hand, but any fabrics I use the Tornador or my steamer. And see this for the vacuum: www.best-auto-detailing-tips.com/detailing-vacuum.html
@UrbanDubsmith
@UrbanDubsmith 9 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I thought you were using and it makes total sense. You don't need 140" of water lift, you're not extracting with the vacuum, and from what you've demonstrated; if you use brushes or the Tornador correctly you just need a decent small vacuum. Thanks for the tips.

Great product. At the dollar store USD $1.00 16oz. trigger sprayer bottle, USD $1.00 32oz. bottle no sprayer. I also think it consumes needles time to saturate mats and then try to suck a gallon of water out of the mat. Less soaking and you can cut down extraction effort. I use a Rigid 4 gallon 5 peak horse power wet & dry vac. It does a good job on interior and exterior blowing and the suction performance is very good too. Saved on an extractor.

Just seems to be a lot of messing about to me? Whats wrong with prevac, prespray, agitation followed by hot extraction? This machine doesn't really extract, it moves the dirt around so the fabric looks cleaner... I bet if you used an extraction machine with a clear tool after this job, loads of dirt will still be removed Nice video though

Very simple, an extraction machine does not have the power to remove debris like this tool. It is a versatile tool that can be used with, or without liquid, and he is using a powerful wet/dry vac to extract any excess dirt and liquid which essentially does the same as an carpet extractor.
