WHY DO PEOPLE BLOW SNOW AT PEOPLES CARS LIKE THAT
@ALLElectricChannel

if it was heavy snow/ice... yes I agree but this was very light powder. I also understand that there could be a rock or something on the sidewalk and then kick up. Next time I won't do this. Thank you for your all caps feedback.

We picked up the smaller 24 inch in December.... yesterday 1/23/23 we finally got to use it in some real snow. Handled 8 inches of wet heavy snow with ease! Did an amazing job on the end of the driveway, definitely prefer it over the compact Ariens we used previously. I was able to get about 37 minutes out of the two 6.0 batteries. After a 2.5 hr recharge, went out and did the neighbors driveway and sidewalk. This was previously our last piece of yard equipment still running on gas. Possibly the best thing about it..... coming inside after and not smelling like gas!

From the videos I've seen the Toro has the advantage of having a traditional snowblower drive system that uses belts. They just put an electric motor on an existing frame they've used on the gas powered snowblower.

Nice review. This blower Is like the tesla of electric blowers. The controls, tires, auger , and metal are awesome, but I would like to see them make one slightly smaller as this Is a beast. Some like me don't have a long driveway but the snow pushed on the edge of driveway Is what kills you. Maybe about 1/4 or 1/8th smaller would be great but still 2 stage. I have a gas 2 stage but Its just right to fit In garage yet still can get rid of any crust at end of driveway. Kudos Toro

It looks like you did not adjust the drive cable. Yours is moving forward (and too quickly) when and it's in the slowest reverse gear position... When adjusted properly, you have both forward and reverse gears. You will also be able to use the much slower first gear in heavier snow without overloading it and reducing your battery runtime...
@ALLElectricChannel

Yes, there is a speed control on the unit. I agree, slowing down the speed out increase runtime.

I have one, and as long at the temp is below 28-30 degrees, it works just as you described. But above that temp range, it's clogging constantly. Have to stop and try to clear it several times on one pass of my 225' driveway. the driveway is very steep, and it's impossible to clear snow going up hill or down hill in the heavy wet conditions.
@davidgabrielsen2139
@davidgabrielsen2139 7 ай бұрын
It's not totally intuitive I have discovered. I agree with the temperature notes in your reply. With 8" of wet, heavy snow you had better have a hot water hose nearby. I just finished my 250' driveway with, temp 30 degrees, 8" of wet snow. What I learned: 1. Make two passes down the middle if the driveway first as it won't throw wet snow from end to end, as my driveway is 14' wide 2. you have to listen for bogging and take either less than a full pass or go slower as it will bog down and need to be cleared manually 3. The hand controls are not optimal and if you are prone to carpel tonal, I suggest that you rest hands on top rather than the sides once you get things in motion 4. If you live in the snow belt as I do you want three, fully charged batteries when there is snow in the forecast 5. If you see 1" of snow protruding from the shoot, stop, turn it off and clear, that's where jams begin it appears. With all that said, if I were using a gas powered machine, I believe it would still jam and I would get a more compacted, icyer jam. I live in NE Ohio and last year we got one storm of substance that my plow guy showed up for. That one push cost me $400. This in the first time I used the machine and I am satisfied to date. I recommend it with the third battery.

Yeah. You must have the linkage 180* out. When your speed lever is pushed forward (away from you) machine should go forward and vice versa for reverse. You have it backwards. Probably from when you installed the handlebars

Going too fast for sure but as you said you were torture testing. The noise is the motor idling like a gasoline engine. This blower is practically the same as the gasoline version, with an electric power plant instead. Don't aim it at vehicles :(

I could definitely tell you cuz I own the same one it is not even close to as loud as a gas one not even close. You couldn't hear yourself talk if you using gas blower in the video. It's kind of deceiving because with phones and cameras the microphone is designed to pull in the sound to make it sound louder so you hear everything it's not a true representation of how loud it really is it's actually very very quiet considering. You could use this snowblower all night long at 2:00 in the morning and it would not bother anybody not your neighbors not anyone as long as the windows are closed. Which is always the case

Also what's interesting because I talked to some people who are into electronics, engineers on these sort of things. The reason why it's running all the time unlike other ones it's because when you completely stopped all the time and when you start with electrical motors IT USES MORE ENERGY TO DO THAT!! If it's running when you're using it right before you use either lever it puts less pressure on the system and uses less battery. It seems like the other companies don't get this didn't do their homework.
@WatsitTooyah
@WatsitTooyah Жыл бұрын
@@thefix-itguyreviewer8151 takes a lot of energy to rev up from a full stop. My assumption with this design was mostly thats how a gas engine works, since it's overall mechanically extremely similar to the gas version.
@thefix-itguyreviewer8151
@thefix-itguyreviewer8151 Жыл бұрын
@@WatsitTooyah it is identical to the gas version except for the electric motor.. Actually brilliant the way they did it! Lot of other companies like ego, Ryobi, are using all those electronics to make it more of a complete electronic to take control and advantage of the electronic stuff. But when you're in the winter and you're using all that electronic stuff for variable speeds not using the belts. What's going to happen is overtime electronics get cold solder joints and you have tons of issues with the circuit boards. Toro I think knew this.. they took a proven design an award-winning design of the 826 gas version.. and just meet a perfectly powerful just as powerful maybe even more powerful sometimes electric version motor on top. That is excellent because this means you will have all the parts AVAILABLE ALL THE TIME!! Because they're the same as they are traditional 826 model The belts, the auger everything.. You will always have replaceable parts forever!! The other versions with the electric stuff will be impossible to get those parts.. it will constantly be breaking overtime.. very hard to fix and diagnose.. They'll have to constantly replace the circuit boards probably after every 5 years.. Very hard to get them. Toro is very very smart!! I just don't like the fact that they lied about how long the batteries last.. they took a perfect situation when they made these with the perfect snow probably didn't even use real snow.. Then you get 10 in of snow and 39 cars NOPE NEVER NOT NO WAY NO HOW ANY SNOW IT'LL COME CLOSE TO THAT!! Like I said for this price they should be giving you the extra battery, in the 5.4 fast chargers to charge your batteries in 1 hour.. Then it still wouldn't do the 39 cars but it would be a lot better. Such deceitful things to get you to buy something. And then they know how difficult it is to return a snowblower then you're stuck with it. I would have been very disappointed if I had a big huge driveway a lot of property.. fortunately mine is only a three-car driveway 10 ft wide small front walkway and driveway in the front. And a patio in the back maybe 20x20. It will just do that and in the batteries run out. And it did that with 12 to 14 in of snow NOT 39 CARS NO WAY LOL

And this was while I was having a part replaced on a 20 yr. Old 726TE , 2 cycle.... It was a definite shot across the bow of what's coming and battery power technology thats not ready .... The 826 should match up to my trustworthy 726TE... we'll see ... ??? But, they should outlast me and I won't have to fart around with not so cutting edge battery technology... You really know it's winter in Northeast Pa. When you have that wonderful aroma of the gas/oil mix burning and churning out tons of torque from a 2 cycle Toro !!! Nothing like it !!! 😂

Due to poor Ego service i have returned my Ego stn 2410 to the hardware store and bought the Toro e26 from a toro dealership near my house. The first reason is that Toro offer 24 months with zero interest. I couldn't find any Ego dealership offering 24 months…. You could only get that if you buy from a general hardware store like lowes, homedepot etc… but it is a very bad idea to buy from them because there is no repair done at those hardware store.. so you have to bring your snowblower to the nearest repairshop and that nearest repairshop might not be close to your house., there are many Ego shops that does repair but they will not repair your Ego if it comes from a different store.. simply because the serial number does not come from the same source, same distribution network and those who provide parts and service , the distributor who sell to the dealer will not pay the repairshop if the serial doesn,t match what they sold. So the dealership (if he decides to repair your ego under warranty despite the fact it come from another store) will have no choice but to make the repair claim to Ego directly and Ego is cheap and slow .. and its a hassle for the dealership to deal with Ego directly.. they prefer to deal with their distributor to get the parts and to be paid quick for any repairs done. To have your Ego fixed, you must find a repairshop willing tomdo that and they are hard to find atleast in my area.. not to mention that ego repairs done through Ego can take weeks if not months, if dealing with Ego. So those are the reasons i bought the Toro e26. Toro Dealership is 8 min from my house. That mean it will be easy to transport the snow blower.. about $100 back and forth… And they will fix it under warranty. About the e26.. yes it is big, bigger and about 30 pounds more than the Ego. The e26 is also much more quiet than the Ego. The e26 brushless electric motor can also be removed and be replaced with a gas engine block if you ever decide to go back to gas because it is the exact same body and gears inside as the gas model. You can not do that with the Ego.. if you look inside the Ego.. the construction is very simple. There is motor for the auger etc.. and there is a second motor for the traction. The axle is moved by a white gearbox. It is half plastic and metal. That plastic gear box can fail but is easy to replace..however getting that part replaced under warranty is a whole different story, the control modules are also easy to replace but same crap.. good luck trying to fix an Ego under wrranty.if you buy from a general hardware store i mean. In other words, never buy an Ego snowblower or any snowblower from a general hardware store (lowes, homedepot etc).. go to a real dealership that have a technician and fast repair service on spot, Those place will not accept to repair your Ego if it doesn’t come from them but they will gladly repair it if it comes from them as they deal with a distributor and not with Ego directly. Dealing with Ego to get paid and get the parts is a hassle.. and they have to do that if your Ego doesn't come from their distributor , .. even if its an Ego.. in other words, the distributor only pay for the inventory he distributed and all other Ego they didn't distributed (i,e the one sold online, amazon, or general store) that need to be fixed must go through Ego service care directly . It make sense. Unless ofcourse your ego is out of warranty, then yes you can go to any dealership and they will fix that for you at full service rate which is usually around $100/hour plus diagnosis plus the parts.. Which is about the same as any other snowblower.. however a toro is a toro and other than fine tuning the pulley and belts, there isn,t much to repair in a toro unless you blowup your brushless motor or something, The Ego however has a much better battery system, their chargers charge much faster and their battery are smarter. After a month they go into sleep mode , somekind of low degradation mode. Also Ego battery are easy to find, even on craigslist .. there are tons of aftermarket battery on Ego.. some cheaper one on amazon… not recommended but if you can afford an oem, thats one option.. Toro battery are much harder to find on craigslist and i don't know any aftermarket toro battery. The chargers that come with the toro (two). are low quality junk compared to the Ego. It takes over 4 hours if not 5 to recharge the Toro battery. It is way much faster with Ego . Also the Ego has a longer runtime and now they come with two 10ah battery, If you consider the the technology research they put in the Ego.. i say you get more bang for your money with the Ego. The Ego is a better purchase overall . But if it is better then why did it take the e26? Because i know that if it break i will be pissed not being able to have it fixed near my house and wait weeks.. the nearest Ego that does warranty is almost 2 hours driving.. that will cost me around $200 on the transport alone. And the wait is quite long. .and the second reason is the sound., the ego is much more noisy than the toro e26. Ego has a very high pitch hiss noise that is not fun to hear. And third reason i picked the toro,, 24 months.. no interest.. so about $100/month.. which i will clear faster than that.

When I hit the auger lever it stalls and beeps almost every time. You could see yours almost doing this on about 7:45 in your video. The only way it woks right is you have to press the lever very slowly at the catch point once the auger starts going everything works fine and doesn't stall. It's almost like when you press that auger lover when it engages it puts too much pressure on the system and shuts down almost as if it was pushing too much snow to save the motor. I don't think it's an adjustment on the cable I did that right.. very bizarre. Once it's going it works perfectly. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THIS THIS AMAZING SNOWBLOWER IS HOW EXPENSIVE BATTERIES ARE.. AND THEY LIE ABOUT HOW MUCH THEY LAST!! THEY DO NOT DO 39 CAR LENGTHS WITH FLUFFY SNOW OR ANY TYPE OF SNOW 10 IN OR UNDER AS THEY CLAIM!! NOT EVEN CLOSE!! Nobody has achieve this nobody!! You will get an average snow or wet snow even fluffy snow no more than a three-car driveway that's 10 ft wide, the front of your sidewalk and a back patio THAT'S IT MAYBE 45 MINUTES TOPS!! YOU HAVE TO WAIT ALMOST 3 HOURS OR MORE FOR A FREAKING CHARGE!! You can buy the fast charge 5.4 amp charger but now you get to spend another $120 per charger per battery! An extra 240 dollars or more for chargers.. And they will charge in about an hour or an hour and 15 minutes. If you're spending $1,800 freaking dollars for something like this FIRST OFF THEY SHOULD NOT LIE ABOUT HOW LONG THE BATTERIES LAST!! THEY SHOULD PROVIDE YOU WITH THE FAST CHARGES LIKE OTHER COMPANIES DO!! AND THEY SHOULD GIVE YOU THREE BATTERIES, THREE FAST CHARGERS!! IT'S ABSOLUTELY HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Now I'm not mad at Toro so much because every company does it.. meaning NONE OF THEM GO LONGER THAN 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR IN ANY SNOW IN LIVE UP TO THE CLAIMS THEY SAY!! NONE OF THEM. It's just science people.. lot of pressure on these batteries they will not last long I don't give a crap what snow blower it is. I love mine cuz I have a small property and it will do exactly what I mentioned above THAT'S IT WITH THE TWO BATTERIES!! THEN YOU HAVE TO RECHARGE. If I had bigger property there's no way I would buy one of these no way in the world. You would have to go with the gas version of this the 826 that in the long run is much cheaper. I think it only cost $1,300 for the snowblower and then you just put gas in it You never run out take care of it.. You probably have a garage anyways to work on it. The other thing is I don't have a garage. I have a small little plastic shed I put it in. Or I put a very high quality cover on it THINK IT'S CALLED TOUGH COVER. As long as you cover it and it's outside in your backyard preferably hidden or locked up. You really won't get much rust on it as long as you clean it, treat it correctly with film film fluid, and oils every year. Make sure when you store it there's no water on it.. it should be fine.. Remember these snow blowers are like cars.. You have metal that is painted. A lot of the parts are kind of the same in a lot of ways.. You don't cover your car today do you? But if you did imagine how much longer it would last. Same thing with this You can cover it with a good cover and you'll be fine.. Peace out God bless!!
