she said a LOT more than the subbed translation, same with Nino's video. No criticism, just a fact as an Italian :) Some part are a more than sufficient "adaptation" but others completely omitted entire lines of dialogue

One of the things that makes Imperio so much fun to watch IS her self-expression. I find it exhilerating to watch and hear her enthusiasm and frustration. It makes you feel part of the competition, because this is how all of the competitors feel whether they show it or not. The most BORING thing in the world is to watch some of the Chinese athletes that show NO emotion. It's like watching a robot and a dead cow. Giulia Imperio, Karlos, Olivia their emotion is what makes it exciting.

Great interview. I hope you can include better Italian translations. The auto-detect and auto-translation built into KZfaq seems to be doing a better job of conveying what she's saying compared to the very brief and incomplete translation your team provides in the video.

Crazy that she can lift with such long nails. I have longer nails in my right hand (classical guitar) and when my thumb nail is long it absolutely digs into my ring finger. And still, even when have that nail long, its like half so long as Giulia's.

Long nails (especially thumb) help a lot with hook grip if you have short fingers, which female lifters usually do.

@@hrsmpthey don’t Just i would say they can understand 40-50% and are much faster at learning italian than we italians learning spanish. For example parlo means i talk/speak in italian and ablo means i talk/speak in spanish Brother: ermano 🇪🇸 vs Fratello 🇮🇹 And so on there are many differences Once you make the connections it’s easier.

It's not really a surprise that there are no interviews with Ri Song Gum as she is North Korean and they're a slightly tricky bunch to gain access to. However, I agree with you and, though I harbour no ill will towards Giulia Imperio, she gets rather more than her fair share of publicity, especially considering her poor form of late.

⁠⁠@@jahuti5065 I understand where you and the original commenter but I think a lot of this publicity on Giulia as opposed to other lifters can be brought back to geographic limitations. There isn't really a ton of money in weightlifting media so the weightlifters who happen to be closer to home end up getting more coverage.
