Toronto gearing up to host 2026 FIFA World Cup

The city is preparing to retrofit BMO field in preparation for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World cup, which will see six games played in Toronto. Melissa Duggan speaks with city officials on the work that needs to be done before kick off.

Toronto FC has a bigger attendence then any other sport in Canada. There attendence average is 25K. Maple leafs 15k, Raptors 20k. The tickets are the cheapest as well.

@@KayvanKermani Wrong. The biggest average attendance in Canada is Winnipeg (CFL, real football) at almost 30K per game, followed by Saskatchewan (CFL) at 28K . Also the average for the Maple Leafs is 19K (not 15K) per game and Raptors 19.5K per game. You also misspelled "Their". yw

The Quebec provincial gov’t didn’t want to fund the necessary improvements needed to be made to the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

They needed to raise property taxes because Tory suppressed the amount it needed to be raised during his time. Tory always ran on keeping property taxes low despite the city falling apart from under funding. It just so happens you can only do that for so long.
