These things are very good looking back and seen some of the old parts of Toronto like in Kensington Square without Waxman now with John Stillwell at the beach in Toronto the sound is a little bit too low so it's kind of hard to hear them but do you know watching them is good you get to see what Toronto was like in those days showing some of the old neighborhoods and some of the old buildings and stuff they should put more of that on thanks KZfaq for doing that

I would love to see a modern follow-up to this production to illustrate how the neighborhood has changed since 1984. It would be great to feature that young family at 17:00, to see how they have progressed in the past 35 years!

Thanks for this! I saw that there are more of these episodes from the Toronto series, like the Danforth Riverdale episode. Have you been able to get your hands on that one? Thanks again!

This was the era when you couldn't get an apartment in the neighbourhood without a lot of luck and some connections. The residents back then were primarily lifelong....they grew up, left to get an education and came back to settle down and raise their own families. Those legacy families have either died out or moved away; beloved businesses have closed and we're all the poorer for it. We've got a good number of slum landlords buying up property now and not maintaining it so our wonderful neighbourhood is getting rundown. Still live here, still love it but it's certainly not the bright shining star it once was.

Very cool. I'll be taking my first trip to Toronto in August. Has it changed a lot since the 80's?

So so much, though the Beach does still look somewhat the same. Toronto today is not the same as it was, but it's still a nice place to visit. I hope you enjoy your trip! Go to the Island!

If the piece was called "The Beaches with John Sewell", I'd be fine with your title. But it's called, "The Beach with John Sewell", and he uses the term "The Beach" all throughout. Thanks for posting.
