Brooke Houghton asked Narcity readers what their go-to spots for street food in the 6ix were, and decided to give them a try to weed out her favourite. Wow.. there was no research done for this piece. I'm a local and never eat at those places. There really is no street food in Toronto but the equivalent is a patty on coco bread, some doubles, tacos, burger, Bao, Bhan mi etc.

Not enough research here. Street in T.O. mostly resides outside the downtown core, and ethnic in origins. Just some of the notable spots/eats are subway station Jamaican patties, Juicy Dumpling, Vietnamese Banh Mis, falafel & shawarma wraps, Trinidadian rotis, Burrito Boys, Italian sandies, Chinese pastries, Square Boys burgers, Badiali's pizza slices, gelato from La Paloma. $16 dollars for a burger and some fries. No drink. I guess when everyone is buying 500 sq ft condos for $700,000, $16 for a burger is cheap.

Yum..the food looks so good. Wish there was a more recent video showing local goodies? My current fave: Yummy House (not downtown, east end) but they serve the tastiest popcorn chicken imo. It's got a hint of 5 spice powder and it's super crunchy and super affordable. I don't get how they're not oily but just good ol' crunch. I could eat that every day. Seriously.

The hot dog stand is just like any other street dog stand lol And $16 for a chicken sandwich is definitely robbery but I will try it once.

Once you enter a location, it's not street food. The only thing in Toronto that qualifies as street food are hot dogs.

Food trucks would qualify as a street food. Since the first place owns food trucks and you can get that sandwich from a food truck, I guess technically it could be a street food even though she bought it at a brick and mortar location.
