This style of video, at my present level a French comprehension, is my favorite. I watch them over and over until I understand every word without looking at the subtitles. It’s very effective. More of these please! Thank you; your videos are great!

very nice video.. With both french and english subtitles. I found the part in the bakery with Lauriane very useful. Short sentences and useful for daily life. It would be great if you could do more like these. Thank you.

Skankhunt42 Bonjour ! As a native speaker, I can say to you that these words are equivalent. I'd say that "donc" is a bit stronger, a bit clearer than "alors", when talking about a consequence. If it is in the sense of "at the time" or to insist on "ou" ("or", "if not"), you have to use "alors".

I'm learning pretty well with Babbel, Rosetta Stone, Pimsleur, Easy French and those hilarious Extra French videos. However, I'm missing a native speaker. If I can just find someone who speaks French as their first language, I'll become fluent. No doubt at all. Do you have any advice? I'm upper beginner level now, and am leaving for France in 8 months for 3 weeks. I want to be ready! :)

Si cette leçon de français s'adresse à des anglophones du Canada, il aurait été plus judicieux d'employer des expressions adaptées au contexte local. En français canadien, les beignets sont des beignes, le portable est un cellulaire, le bonnet que vous avez montré c'est une tuque. Le bateau pour aller aux îles c'est un traversier. Le petit déjeuner au Canada c'est le déjeuner, comme en Belgique et en Suisse. Les centimes de dollars sont des cents. J'espère que vous avez aussi visité le Vieux-Montréal ou le Vieux-Québec, c'est là qu'on retrouve les vestiges architecturaux de la Nouvelle-France.
