this is a VHS camera film of road trips in 1985, a I-Love-Goa excercise covering almost all the public beaches from Cavelossim in the South to Anjuna in the North, and through the Portuguese memories in Margao, Vasco da Gama, Marmagoa harbour, Panjim and Mapusa. This was the time that hippie-dom was at its peak, in Goa. In the hinterland, the Indianism of Goa was being expressed in the evergrowing different culture. This particular road trip shows the Panjim ( just changed to Panaji) ferry docks on the Mandovi river, Zuari river and its unfinished bridge, more buffalo and cows on the roads, continue to Pt 2 • Goa - a fishermans day...

Oh 1980s i was in school , the progress high school , pjm , really it was golden days. Remembering of jetty , buses use to fly from next to secretariat. Unless it brought in next kyc bus stand.

Its so good of u to record that where no one in goa i dnt think anyone had a vhs recorder in thos days.. nice to see Goa before i ws evn born.. its beautiful..

Truth is I was feeling a bit awkward carrying and using the VHS since, you are correct, no one else seemed to be carrying or using one at that time. I am glad I did it.

I was born in 87 and always think how was the time in my child hood and how has it changed now but was able to compare only in my memories... U made it so easy for me... Thanks again

My Father came to Goa in 1965 and he speaks of so many things about the natural beauty of Goa then ... I use to only imagine... U served it on a plate for me and my father

That was the old Mandovi bridge. Some portion of it had collapsed.

Ashvet Navelkar the beginning view is from the mandovi hotel; but the collapsed bridge, collapsed more than once I believe, was on the other river. I forget the name now. I stand to be corrected.
