This hack I came up with to aid in using a tortilla press. This could even be used with a rolling pin. Amazon link to cheap cutting board. A about a buck a piece amzn.to/2WtEMMN
This will be my next press amzn.to/2Ynndje

@@ronaldriley5075 You do know the difference between the 2 don't you. Jusr don't add a levitating agent and use less dough to make tortillas. What is so hard to figure out. The press works the exact same way. It is not rocket science..

I think because this could have been a 2-minute video instead of 9 mins. Most of the time he spent explaining things that are common sense. Dough too thick on one side? Rotate it and press again. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Yes , a good tip , thank you . Two issues : a) why could you not just fully demonstrate with an actual dough ball b) would you not be better to cut your two discs into a ''lollipop'' , ie with a small handle the better to , er , handle them . Anyway , thank you .

Another person asked this, I posted a subsequent video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y7h4f7mWzZmooKs.html You can skip to 2:50 to see how works. You would have to turn or re angle if using rolling pin as well Also a press is normally faster than a rolling pin. Especially when you consider clean up time as well.
@diannaa6189

there is a gal on a video whose husband added a metal plate below her cast iron press with bailing wire and added a long heat free handle to lift upper plate once pressed. She then placed press on her gas burner on low heat flame and puts tortilla dough ball inside as you normally would. , presses and lifts tortilla out with spachula and continues to cook on a comal or grill. It works! The heat helps spread out the dough. She got a beautiful 8 plus inch FLOUR tortilla but it looks more like a 10 inch. I am in the process of creating the same with my 10 inch cast iron press. I have been making flour and corn tortillas since I was 11. Yes, latin family, oldest daughter. This works. When you are making flour tortillas you want a nice thin roll out. Thanks for the video.
