I was really hoping they would make the Lite a no brainer for me since some things about the Pro are a bit overkill. A couple of design choices perplex me a bit though and have me looking at other bags as I'm still not sure the Pro is exactly what I'm looking for. 1) Okay, they removed the admin panel. I can live with that, but if removing that, why make that front side access pocket so much smaller than what is on the Pro? If they are going to remove the admin panel in the Lite, they should have at least kept that same large access/capacity panel on the front instead of shrinking it. To me, this is a bizarre choice and one that ended up being more of a big deal to me than I would have thought. 2) Why not just have thin sperator pocket for a tablet or a second device in the laptop compartment? I think I can live with this not being there, but it really would have been nice to have just a little more going on there to make multi device travel just a bit easier. Doesn't have to be to the level of the Pro, but a little something! With that being said, I still may end up getting the Lite as there is a lot I like about it, but was not the no brainer I was hoping it would be to have me pull the purchase trigger on release day.

It looks like Tortuga tried to make the Lite as light weight as possible and sacrificed organization in the process. Agreed, that a larger front compartment, or even an extra pocket, would have made the Lite perfect.

Great comparison! I don’t think the lite is for me (too limiting and I have a longer torso than the recommended torso lengths). But I really wish the Pro had stowable straps in case there’s a need to check the bag. That might be a dealbreaker for me (otherwise I’d be ordering it now). I also wish it had the mesh water bottle storage, but that’s not a dealbreaker. I think I’m going to continue looking at other bags. I’ve been eyeing the Pakt and Matador bags among others.

It's disappointing that the Pro doesn't have stowable straps! If it had that one feature it would be near perfect.
