for real. This song always holds a bit of a place for me. It just, everything about its sound always makes me think of what was, and what can be in the future. It just makes me think, ya know. And man, yeah. Its been 14 years *sips at literal fruit juice* some of us are gettin old now. That means I listened to it when I was a 10 year old kid obsessed with Metroid. Now I come back as an adult still obsessed with Metroid.

Metroid Has the best soundtrack to it... It makes you feel like your in the game, With its Echo's and loud bangs. Its the greatest Soundtrack to ever have been thought of. And now with the very skilled "Mixers and DJ's" out there.. The're is an endless possibility of music.. I think I speak for everyone who listens to this song when I say .. Thank you Metroid :D

The Samus I was playing as for 13 years was the kind who accidentally blows up a planet for the third time without batting an eye, but still feels a little bad about setting the Chozo artifact temple ablaze. The kind that removes her helmet briefly to vomit, and then gets back to business. The kind that jumps into ostensibly bottomless craters in pursuit of the big, scary monster, rather than standing before it in horror, reflecting on her childhood.

I think we all liked metroid for its feel of being a "lonewolf" in every metroid game you had to decide everything for yourself. Metroid other M just felt like a walkthrough with Samus being dramatic, with all the shit she went through she should not have been scared so easily besides Adam's death.

Annoyingly, she's become a full foot shorter since her original incarnation. She was originally listed as 6'3", IIRC, which is -fukken tall-. Now she's officially 5'3". :/

This is wonderful! It sounds like it should be in any of the metroid metroid prime games. The bassoon (I think) sound isn't one that I expected to go well with synths, but it does and it's amazing. Reminds me of how much I should go play MP2 through for the 15th time.

The reason I didn't like Other M is because there wasn't enough room for exploration and was just "Go here" then "Go there". At least Metroid Fusion gave you some room to look around.

But at least it is known somethings about her that we didn't... Maybe it was not what we expected and the reason why is because there are many gaps to fill in her story so we can understand why she became so soft at that point after many heroic missions she undertook and accomplished. Many things are found in the Metroid Manga... But not everyone knows about it.

mnnnn.... at the start sounds like brinstar red soil.... but then it sounds like the real torvus, i think the sound of B.R.S. it was because they re-use it at the torvus subaquatic part.(retro studios i mean.)

@nintengamer3v0lve Yeah, but the same song was changed and used in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes as the underwater Torvus Bog theme. This sing, is a remix of that theme more than the super metroid version.

And let's face it, Samus went over 20 years without a (sorry Jennifer Hale) voice, that's two decades for everyone to have their own individual idea of a character that made her special, personal. If you give her one then you ruin that, and I think that's a pretty big reason people like Samus, they made up parts of her, she could be a gun-toting bad-ass to one, and a curious archaeologist to another.

@TheSammaster9 Retro said they were done with the "Metroid PRIME" series. Doesn't rule out the possibility for another Metroid series to be made by them. Developers like to throw fans off with things like that. :)

I'd say the Prime trilogy is a very close second best. First being Super Metroid. That said, I'll take the whole saga. And yeah, that includes Other M. Loved that one, too (despite the cheesy story, Samus's weak character, and abysmal voice acting [English version, at least]). Gameplay (specially the gameplay), stage design (albeit it's quite different from other Metroid games), and graphics (considering it's a Wii game) were superb, in my opinion.

DarkRaven is right a thousand times. Samus is SELF RELIANT, one girl army, tough chick. Thats the girl we've all fallen in love with. She doesn't need a man or anyone by her side. It's ridiculous she was the first videogame female character that didn't need to be saved and fought a whole planet all by herself. I don't get why they had to ruin this, I don't get why gamer girls all around the world didnt go nuts over it.

Be fair dude, there were holes in her character, like how she considered Malkovich a father figure, not the Chozo who fathered her, defended her and gave her the tools to fight her own battles. And surely you can see the submissive point, this is the first female player character in the whole of gaming, made to be a strong, intelligent, positive role model, it does come as a screw up that she's really just vying for daddy no.2's affection.

@Recruit173 it sounds similar to Mount Amazing part 1, but that song is much more upbeat. By instruments it resembles the snow levels, the Titanic one for example.
