One thing I love about rap is the samples. It’s unique to rap.You can’t just throw any old sample on a song. It takes creativity and technical skill. You have to pick the song., what part of the sample song will go in your song, where it will go in your song and then the skill it takes to line up the beats so the sounds are joined seamlessly. It’s a craft that takes artistic skill and a high level of well thought out creativity.

Yes wayne influenced the current roster of rappers, but the origin is rock and especially punk rock, mixing the female energy with the male energy, I think there is a way to do it but a lot of these newer rappers do it for a look and because it's currently "hot", some one like young thug has been cross dressing since he was a little kid so that's different, and he talks about that, people seems to forget hip hop is not a culture any more it's a genre of music structured in business, so if having a loop beat and loop lyrics makes money and grabs the attention everyone is going to follow the formula

Rap has been what we consider "rap" since 89. We speak on rap not being in a good place, as if any other kind of music genre has lasted as long, historically. Think about the 60s, 70s, 80s, each decade had a distinct sound - the same cannot be said about 90s, 2000s and 2010s. The closest thing to the sound evolving as it should is what travis is doing - making theatrical, trap, sing-rap music.
