He's somehow wrong about both the pre- and post-election perception from 1997 within the space of a few seconds! People were *not* expecting continuity Tories from Labour at the time - whilst devolution, the Human Rights Act, chucking out most hereditary peers and creating a separate Supreme Court were huge constitutional improvements rather than "vandalism".

Because the Tories cut the number of staff available to process immigration applications which, particularly with more desperate applicants and asylum seekers, leaves the door wide open for them to get smuggled in.

I did some shopping yesterday, my diet is very specifix which makes things difficult already, so I buy saver shop brand when I can. Even those things have gone up massively in price! My poor cat is on saver slop with a bit of good a tuff when I can get it. My gas electric and council tax is bigger than my mortgage uses to be. I'm fed up and I can't get nhs healthcare for numerous illnesses! But hey I don't have to worry because the dr told me "you probably don't have cancer", I feel so much better now! Those brexiteers and tory voters have so much to answer for😠

Bereal, I'm so sorry to hear about your illness and difficulties. You are so right about the swivel heads who voted for Brexit and the Tories at the last election. The Tories could not give a stuff about ordinary people like you and me. All they are concerned about is the acquisition of personal gain. It doesn't matter that everyone else pays the price. Let's hope that the next government are able to repair some of the damage these corrupt Tories have done over the past 14 years.

notice the inflation on the graph since 2016 ...Brexit was a huge jump! Even though we left in 2020, the pound was massively devalued immediately after the ref result.

We've been in reccesion for 2 years with average living stanrds falling by -4.2% (GDP per capita) Food staples doubled in the last 2 years, rent rising 11% on the back of a similar risprevious 12 months, tax rises on pensioners and anyone earning < 32k The poverty levels are going through the roof

His characterisation of the last Labour government is also bollocks. Every key indicator from growth, wages, nhs waiting lists, to child poverty levels were better under Labour and worse under the Tories even before Covid and Ukraine. Even taxation was lower.

Why is the government even comparing the inflation figures with other countries? The UK very conveniently leaves out the complete housing from its calculation as it this is not part of your living costs!
