One of the songs that I played over and over again growing up was Mad World by ‪@TearsForFearsOfficial‬. Hard to imagine a song that seems more relevant right now. I am so happy to share a new beautiful version by my dear friend Curt Smith of ‪@TearsForFearsOfficial‬ with his daughter Diva recorded for us from their quarantine life in LA.

My ex boyfriend used to play this song on piano and guitar, he passed away in July. When his mom and I were looking for a song to play at the funeral, she remembered this song.... we cried and decided that it wasn't appropriate for the funeral because his death was tragic. My 21st birthday was on sunday and as I was having my first drink with my family, this song came on in TGI fridays, such a strange place and timing, but it was Jake coming to say happy birthday through this song.... he knew i would hear him. Thank you so much for your music and me being able to hold this memory so fondly, i will always sing this song and one day I hope to learn to play it even though ive never played an instrument myself

For God sakes they have 19 million listeners on Spotify monthly. Elvis only have 17 million. Now go put on some headphones and discover some more bands that you can claim are underrated. There’s this really funny one named after a bug that many people I’ve heard of. Beetle men. Or something like that

I hope some day you find a relationship like this. I have an amazing relationship with my daughter, I have also have had the opportunity to become good friends and mentor to young women who have interned at my company. I have been amazed by their talent and initiative. I had one woman, a young single mom, who made a point of returning months later to thank me for helping her learn the skills to get a dream job. In a long, old man sort of way, I'm saying there are some wonderful older people out there who are looking for those rewarding relationships as well. Sometimes you just have to slow down and give us a chance. It also wouldn't hurt if some of us boomers would stop being so judgemental. Best of luck.

It's insane to think that while this song was played over and over again she wasn't even alive. She just wasn't here. Her consciousness didn't exist... And when we're gone she will do the living. New possibilities, new anxieties, new moments of happiness, and we'll simply not be there. We were just passengers, we happened to be on the same train for a couple of stops and then... good-bye. That's crazy

I don't care for their Harmony. Would have come out better if they just alternated volcals every verse.

@@anthonyb.9336 Are ye earblind, lad? It's called "blood harmony"-brother/brother, sister/sister, parent/child...something to do with the vocal chords being genetically attuned. Not ALL relatives have it, of course, and unrelated people can match it, but it's a real thing, and these two have it. (might also be from just playing together at home a lot) Anyway, if you don't like it that's fine. You just don't like harmony singing, opposite of me (sang harmony with my mother from the age of 4).

1974 checking in. In 1982 we were the kids. In 2020 we are the parents. "Hello Teacher tell me what's my lesson - looked right through me" takes on a whole new double meaning when you become the teacher. I don't know if Curt Smith realized this song would become a THEME song for our generation when he first wrote it.

I love the song. But the best thing i love here is to see the father and the daughter smile at each other, in deep profound understanding. That connection is worth a lot!
