Pretty amazing that the foundation of hip hop was started by young men/women and kids. I mean, for example, Rock Steady Crew were a bunch of teenagers and contributed huge to the development of hip hop. These guys all were true innovators. Today's rappers/producers need to pay their respect to the old school.

I grew up in Strong Island NY the home of Rakim Chuck Dee from Public Enemy EPMD Dela Soul Freedie Foxx Keith Murray Craig Mack Prodigy from Moob Deep Biz Markie Grand Daddy IU Method Man Roc Marciano and countless others. When I see these classic Hip Hop scenes it still brings chills through my Hip Hop soul being I grew up during the Golden Era of Hip Hop and I witnessed the Park Jams and Block parties in my old hood New Cassell Westbury Long Island NY where Doctor Dre from Yo MTV Raps was also from so I seen Hip Hop I'm it's infancy and purest form traveling to clubs and parties all over Strong Island and the Five Boros. NY was and always will be the Mecca of Hip Hop and that's facts. Salute to Double Trouble and the Rock Steady Crew cats who made me want to rap and be a B Boy.

It's interesting you mention hip-hop outside of NYC in '82. Our pops passed a couple days after new years in '82 and so his/our family thought it would be a good idea to pitch in and fly us all from the south Bronx to east l.a. It was a different world! Our own family didn't know what to make of us. They were not hip-hop friendly. We went back in 86' and they loved us all of sudden.
