I think you are mistaken! the core i3 3110m comes in two variaties: 37.5mm x 37.5mm (rPGA988B); 31mm x 24mm (BGA1023) the core i7 3612qm comes in a single variate: 31.0 x 24.0mm (BGA1224) These are not the same socket! I think you bought the core i7 3632qm which is a: 37.5 x 37.5mm (rPGA988B If your laptop has the same version of socket than this is the only core i7 with 35 watts that can work. I am thinking about buying it. I am sure yet.

@@bashirabdelwahed Well I actually do have the i7 3612QM, and it fits and runs well replacing the i3 3110M. Both are socket G2 (rPGA 988B), even intel website says so.

Depends if it's the Intel or AMD model. For Intel, any 3rd gen mobile i7. (I put the i7 3630QM in mine) For AMD, don't know. Look up the cpu socket and find the fastest processor that fits from the same generation. Odds are it will work.

@@Punka3Gaming Again it depends on the model. For AMD I think it's 16GB 1600Mhz, for Intel there are some forums that say 32GB works but I personally couldn't get 32 to boot so I stuck with 16.

@@Punka3Gaming Right so you probably have a 2 and 4GB stick of ram in there. Open Task Manager (CTRL SHIFT ESC) and go to the performance tab. Under Memory look for the Speed of the ram. Then get an 8GB stick of DDR3 in the same speed and add it to your 4GB stick to make 12. You can then replace the 4GB stick with another 8GB at a later date if you still feel like you need more ram. For the CPU... the best CPU that will fit in the same socket is the A10-5750M. These are somwhat expensive though and will probably overheat in this specific laptop. Trust me I've used this CPU in a laptop before. Personally I would go a step down to the A8-5550M. You'll get comparable performance and the graphics chip in there will still be a massive improvement over what you already have. Best place to find all of this is Ebay. But don't just buy the first CPU or ram stick that you see. Be careful. Often you'll find it's coming from China and then you'll have to wait a month to get it. Or the seller might be a bit shady and you'll end up with something damaged or the wrong product entirely. Currently prices are as follows. For the A10-5750M it's about £40 give or take a few pennies but that's from china, there are no UK sellers right now. (Though you might be in the US for all I know.) For the A8-5550M You're looking at anywhere from £20 to £35 from multiple sellers. For the ram, depending on the speed you need, anywhere from £10 to £30 Hope this helps and good luck on your upgrade. Side note. Download an app called Battery Bar Pro. (Use the free trial) And check how much battery wear you have. Anything more than 10% and I would suggest getting a new battery. Currently my battery lasts me anywhere from 2 to 5 hours on a good day. When I first upgraded the battery wear was at 20% and I was lucky to get more than 2 or 3 hours on a full charge.
