*That's exactly my problem too after 9 years with my super fast Toshi-Baby... 80 degrees in standby. And new spaghetti sauce on the processor. Thank you.*

I just need to replace the keyboard and mouse buttons as well as the backplate for the screen, I got mine with two heavy dents in it and some scratches then replace the thermal paste on the cpu the battery works fine for now still holds a decent charge but the charging port has a crack in it so ill need to somehow fix that to make sure the cable doesn't hang kinda funky anymore rams fine with 8 GB but the 5400 hdd has got to go so im upgrading that to a 480 GB ssd, but yeah thanks for this it will help when I do the repair work

was that grey substance necessary because I watched the video and put the thing back without pasting the grey stuff.
@computerrepairservice26548 жыл бұрын
+GBN Yes, a small amount of thermopaste is necessary and must be smeared with a thin layer. Every time you clean your laptop and remove the heatsink, it's good the thermopasta to be replaced.
@clearcount71078 жыл бұрын
does it matter what kind of thermal paste or just any will work
@computerrepairservice26548 жыл бұрын
any paste for use on CPU. Just every paste has different conductive characteristics. Usually, the more expensive, the better.
@yamilrodrigoquintanabenite26885 жыл бұрын
Well i would say the difference is the time the paste keeps its viscosity, some thermal pastes keep it longer time and other dry faster. Anyway thermal paste is necessary, sometimes like in the place i live you cannot find the best rated pastes so yo have to use the generic ones.

Hello, I have a question. My toshiba shuts itself a lot. Is it because of cooler or fan ? and also I notices that when it opens, the fan does not work and the screen is black. I wait for 1-2 mins then fan works and screen works as well But, after a while fan stops and computer shuts itself down again.
@computerrepairservice26547 жыл бұрын
May be it's (the power off) due to the dust gathered in the heat sink. In this case your laptop should be cleaned urgently. The fan may not in any case to work immediately when power on. But the screen will be opened after few seconds. May be your graphic card has already be damaged by overheating. It will be good your laptop to be diagnosed by a technician.

Dear Sir I want to ask abt. Laptop toshiba L855. Chipset intel Hm7670 Gpu hd4000. When i tested it use cpu i5 2450m (my old cpu from laptop toshiba l850 which chipset SLJ8E) only adapter led and power on led are shining, no blower fan running, blank screen, this case same like my old motherboard L850 only 2 leds are on. Now i want to ask you the motherboard is broken or my old cpu i5 2450m is broken or cpu i5 is not support to motherboard which seller said must use cpu i5 Gen.3. Pls be inform what cpu i5 support since your video show toshiba L855. Fyi: i have checked my old motherboard chipset and other same with motherboard i bought online. I'm afraid when i buy cpu i5 Gen.3, the problem is broken motherboard. So i want to make sure it. Waiting your reply soon.Thank you

i dont know why you want to place the cpu from your old lsptop on to the L855 laptop, but if,as you wrote, the L855 support 3 gen i5, then it must be incompatible to the 2450 cpu, which is 2 gen. Generally, the cpu is not broken so often. Also, may be your old laptop's M/B is faulty.
@hermanali53183 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your quick reply. I have told by technician that my old M/B L850 is broken so i bought new one which sent old M/B photo, spec and cpu photo. Now make me confuse on the casing put label cpu use i5 2450m. And i checked chipset SLJ8E, which same spec. And chipset with l855. At that time i think l850 used chipset Hm65 but after checked the chipser Hm76. The problem for me if i buy new chipset i5 3340m or 3360m. I'm afraid the M/B is broken for L855. Can you inform if the cpu i5 does not support to M/B, we can look only adaptor led and power led are on, no blowing fan, blank screen. It is i want to make sure before buy new cpu i5 3 Gen. Thank you

Do you have to unscrew under and remove keyboard to reach fan?
@computerrepairservice26546 жыл бұрын
No, the keyboard is no need to be removed. I removed it to clean under it too.
@jackfntwist6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for responding. I have the Tosh L875. Not sure if I have to remove keyboard. But I almost broke the cable clip the last time. I don't know if I have to unscrew the top of L875 to reach the bottom / fan. But I think i can leave the keyboard attached, even if I unscrew it.
