you can also take the pressure after the coil to see the restriction on the evap coil only, maybe its plugged, gl fixing that on that unit. or maybe their supply registers are all closed. Usually static pressure comes mostly from the negative side. i bet their evap coil is matted up.

So this procedure also helps me but It’s not just kinked duct work, it’s usually undersized duct work (return). Too fast or too slow of blower speed, and or air restriction on evap coil . Because the systems they’re putting out now not only blows more torque(ecm), but they also need more cfm on return.

When I check the TES Pressure and I have 0,8 or more...Which is the blower velocity (Low, Medium, or High) that should I set when I do the testing?
@kennethdean43493 жыл бұрын
The blower setting should be the one that produces the air flow needed by the system. Compare the TESP to the blower chart and adjust as necessary. A typical cooling system needs between 350 and 400 CFM per ton.
@willskora20552 жыл бұрын
If we want low or no restrictions for the system to work properly why do we give the home owner the ability to create an inefficient system the minute they close a heat/cooling vent?

Interesting to see all the data on the app. I am guessing there are psychrometers installed as well? I didn't see them in the video.
@chrisfrench9324 жыл бұрын
For that test you don't need the psychrometers, but we do have them in Job Link Probe form. They come in a kit or as individuals. www.fieldpiece.com/products/detail/jl3kh6-job-link-probes-charging-and-air-kit/job-link-probes/

Do these measure air temp as well?
@zeinktm83172 жыл бұрын
It's a old comment but I'll still answer it, they don't the only thing this great tool do measure gas pressure/ static/ and pressure switchs however note that for the pressure switchs they can't pressurize a pressure switch, for doing so you need a different type a manometer to do so.
@T-Bone-nk1ng3 жыл бұрын
Lol just remarkable that they figured this was a good spot to film a tutorial video. "No lighting? Check. Hot af? Check. Hunched over sitting in the dirt? Check. Rat turds? Check. Alright let's get after it."

The manufacturers should provide a hole for the furn outlet. What would that cost?

Carrier is the only manufacturer that I've ever seen do that.

Shannon Knight HVAC Trane has holes on the side for the probes.
@jrsmyth97612 жыл бұрын
How do you justify this as a dual port kit? Each probe is a SINGLE port, unlike the Testo version. So, because there are 2 single port manometer probes it is considered a dual port kit?
@jrsmyth97612 жыл бұрын
@@FieldpieceProducts Or you could have ACTUAL dual port manometers by Testo that do the same thing. Your set up is 2 single port manometers. Your very own website description of 1 of these makes that point.
@logancook47902 жыл бұрын
@@jrsmyth9761 there is also an actual dual port fieldpiece manometer that also tests pressure switches this setup is just more convenient for certain applications

Just found this one. What do you mean "we don't have those installed like that in FL"? I have four clients on PCB where the air handler is under the house. Three of those are installed with the panels facing away from the scuttle hole and no room to crawl over. I have crawl to the lowest spot and squirm over old flex to leak check coil or troubleshooting heat or blower issues while laying in the dirt. Gotta get a skinny youngster on the payroll for those, or pass on the customer to someone else
@andreasgeorgantakis49802 жыл бұрын
Couldn't your "high" positive pressure be caused by a dirty heat exchanger? Second question, Isn't the positive pressure measurement supposed to be taken 12 inches away from blower?

If there was a duct leaking in a tight/enclosed crawlspace, a supply air leak or a return air leak into the duct...the zeroing would be a worthless measurement. Your entire reading would be bogus.
