These guys are hilarious. Did they really think a team built around 35+ year old Barcelona alumni was going to lead to glory? Like all sports, this is a young man's game. This league continues to do things that make no sense if they're trying to grow a following: bring in aged European league cast-offs as its superstars; sign an exclusive broadcast deal with an upstart streamer while the Primer League is available to the US public via broadcast television and basic cable; consistently fail to promote young stars to the American public. I know the long-time American soccer people complain about MLS's resistance to US Open Cup, but I don't think that's much of a problem (novice fans don't care about that, guys) -- the problem is that they continue to make their brand of soccer look mediocre (old guys dominate within their league but get pasted in international competitions) with too many hurdles to clear to see it (why would I pay for Apple+ to see a minor league; the USL was smart enough to do a deal with Fox and ESPN).

The coach did not make any changes despite the team losing and the defensive line performing poorly. The team relied heavily on Messi to carry them through. Although the team had quality players, it was expected that the coach would make some changes to improve the team's performance. On the other hand, the winning team made changes when necessary, while the losing team failed to do so. Doesn't it make sense to make changes when they are needed? Inter Miami requires improved defenders and midfielders.

The focus on the bench is strange as the game was over in the 58th minute before subs. I understand the point of Noah Allen starting, but the sad reality is he played better than the other 2 CBs. To focus on the bench is to infer that the 1-11 players are on par with Monterrey, and thatplayers 12+ are the problem. The starting 11 were not up to the task. Columbus is a much better team than Miami up and down the roster, so not sure if we can make generalizations about MLS if we focus solely on Miami. Let's see how Columbus does against Monterrey before makign any conclusions. Also, this also shows why leagues Cup is a joke with no home games for MX teams.
