I've been a big Total War fan as well as a Dynasty Warriors fan for a long time. I honestly remember saying to myself "damn imagine if these two came together." when I was 14, now here I am at the age of 26 getting exactly what I wanted. I really can't stress how fantastic the game, I loved Medieval Total War 2 and really enjoyed the Total War: Warhammer games, but being the bias bastard I am this is officially my favorite Total War game.

We all know that when *LU BU* enters the battlefield, you retreat immediately.

The video definitely hyped me up for the game. My favorite aspect of Total War is the historical accuracy. Especially for a period which makes it hard to even be accurate. With Shogun 2 being my favorite ever, I'm definitely getting Three Kingdoms!

The challenge of a historic mode, where a decisive outcome may be harder to acquire, is the main inspiration; if 9/10 battles aren't decisive, have I learned when I make that one decisive outcome? Definitely one of the most beautiful total war series. But I still like the game mechanics of shogun 2. All the games after shogun 2 feel a bit complicated to me.

I always hated/never really understood IGN reviews. Okay so you gave it a 9.3....why not a 9.2 or a 9.4? It just makes it seem like its arbitrary and takes validity away from the review

The Three Kingdom TV series finale is much more satisfying than Game of Thrones

I see many people complains about heroes being OP in Romance mode... well, but it is romance mode at the end of the day, we can't dessire a hero to be normal like his normal units under his command, if you want a ballance there I have a ballance for you: three strongs heroes in one side and three strong heroes in the other. Pls CA don't nerf heroes to the ground, the devs proposal appers to be very amazing with romance mode.

still miss 1v1 animations from TW:Rome 2, yeah it was sometimes goofy when two soldiers stand next to each other "searching" each other and after some time locking into epic duel, but the cruel finisher moves made the battle look more realistic (especially with mod that made all dealy blows into kill animations rather than soldier just falling to ground), as a hoplitae severing the head off from persian soldier, the other one shieldbashing one in the face and proceeding to impale the guy with a spear..Glorious!

Don’t pursue Lu Bu? But Lu Bu alone = 8 armies. Outnumbered 4 to 1? Solution is to have Lu Bu kill 3/4 of their army then have your troops mop up the rest

The RTS Dynasty Warriors i wanted

Romance mode is basically turning on Dynasty Warrior mode.

I really like the review and presented information. Still I would , as a fan of the genre, like to know how the timelapse of the battles have developed (think its important critic in the genre). The battles in the last games have been feeling very rushed. Can you enjoy the scenes here, or is is still 2 minute slaughters?

Everyone in the comments talking about Dynasty Warriors but I see none about where the games original came from after the novels, Romance and the Three Kingdoms. They only made about 12 of them.

Wish CA/SAGA would release either permission to MOD campaigns and campaign maps or release a GoT DLC for one of their newer platform game. The GoT mod on Attila is awesome and looks great but it limited to custom battle.

Im excited for this, but honestly all these improvements just make me more excited to see what CA does with medieval 3. Which will no doubt eventually come.
