i don’t know if anyone’s noticed this, but ben’s version of a letter from the refuge is like a few notes higher than andrew’s (in the 2017 live newsies recording) and for some reason it just sounds more sad?? or more emotional??

For some reason I find it more emotional because he sounds more like a kid (for obvious reasons) but it really shows that Crutchie really was just a kid when he was in the refuge

Quite a bit late, but it sounds like it’s a full step higher than the live recording. Instead of the high note being an F4, the high note is a G4 in this one.

Seeing Ben as Crutchie would be so absolutely breathtaking, Ben deserves a role as big as Crutchie or bigger. Then again it would be incredible to see him as Race because Ben brings a sort of personality to Race that Ryan, Max or anyone else could bring. When he plays Race he’s truly in his element.
