In some places, I actually was feeling afraid that place was going to cave in with no notice! At any rate, THANK YOU for being brave & courageous, and continuing to film this old gems , once they are gone, they are gone. Nothing today is built with the craftsmanship of yesteryear!

That house was bigger than it looked from the outside. Big kitchen, nice dining room, living room and plenty of bedrooms. The furniture left behind was nice and should have been saved. The kids that ended up with the house really blew it. Thanks Kappy. That house was dangerous but you pulled it off.

Awww!! The old double ovens! They’re actually coming back in style now. In our next remodel, I’m going to have them installed as my family is getting bigger. It’s great to have a main meal cooing at the same time as your sides or deserts. I LOVE the vintage wall paper! All these items left behind. Someone’s treasure is now dilapidated and in disrepair. WOW! Very interesting house with lots of decay. Did you know that the light hanging down in the center of the kitchen is the kind you can PULL up or down to lower or raise it's height if you had a table under it, they were very popular in the 50's. Great Explore )) 😀

This reminds me of my great grandmothers house in Wva.. Left to my dad he let relatives live in it for free for 40 yrs because we lived out of state.. When my father passed and left me the house this is what i came back to.. They only lived there never fixed a thing and when they died their kids ransacked the house and left it to ruin.. just tore it down because it couldnt be saved.. I did save the fireplace mantels..thats it sadly

What a house! Yes the attic was the very best part for me! Battleship! I used to play that endlessly with my best friend! We would even call each other on the phone and play that way! Lots of cool old stuff in there that’s for sure! Sometimes when you’re in these houses I see so much of my childhood it makes my heart ache! In a good way, don’t worry! I absolutely loved all the wallpapers…big shout out to Ruby for opening your eyes about wallpaper!!! And lastly, the room with the two 4post single beds! I just love that look! And the crib! Hi Kappy and all the usual gang of explorers! Hope all of you are well and enjoying life! This house sounds very interesting from your description, Kappy. I don't know how you keep finding these forgotten gems, but I'm glad you do! Keep up the good work! I think this is a design called a Foursquare, built in the post-Victorian period. It should have four rooms on each floor, with a central hall and staircase. Oh, you're definitely a couple of decades too late here, Kappy. I wonder what it looked like before time and gravity took their toll on that roof. What a bright, sunny laundry room that was! It makes a necessary chore much more enjoyable when there is a room filled with sunlight in which to work. The double oven is for a very busy or ambitious cook, who wants to bake two things at once. I had the pleasure of owning one of these in the first house I ever owned. They're actually a very convenient feature if you cook a lot or have dinner parties. It's hard to tell what all of the rooms looked like in this house. It's a shame that the roof failed and water found its way inside. This was probably a very nice house once upon a time. You've got a good eye, Kappy. That mantel is quite lovely. It's rather unusual, almost delicate in its design and workmanship. How awful to see this once proud house in this condition! The bits and pieces still visible and the walls still standing speak of a family that took pride in the ownership of this house and took good care of it and its antiques. I turned the volume up all the way and listened to your sound from upstairs, Kappy. They are definitely footsteps. It may very well be that someone is staying upstairs and is moving traces of themself to hide proof of their occupation. Either that or a former occupant is still inhabiting the house they once loved. That large mahogany breakfront is a very lovely antique. Now it's doomed to utter destruction once the rest of the ceiling collapses. That is, in itself, a stinking shame. There have definitely been people trespassing in this house. The abundance of red candles would indicate their attempts to summon dark spirits. Perhaps those people are causing the noises we are hearing. Look out above, huh, Kappy? Those quiet footsteps did not seem hurried in the least, but simply those of someone moving about the rooms of their home. Strange. There was definitely someone or something upstairs. It gave me chills. These folks really favored Early American furnishings. That dining table and chairs would bring a fortune in Europe, where such things are highly favored. There are so many beautiful pieces left in the house. It's a pity that the children have no happy memories of the time they spent living here. Perhaps then they would try to salvage some of the better pieces left by their parents. The plain staircase is not out of place in this post-Victorian house. The over-the-top fashion of the Victorian era had wearied the souls of those following who built simple, sturdy houses like this one. Gone were the needlessly ornate furnishings their parents cherished. Clean lines and utilitarian furnishings came into fashion. This house is a perfect example of society's shift away from decoration for its own sake. It showcases, instead, the honest, solid features of the house. The staircase had all it needed - solid steps, sturdy banisters and a strong handrail. That modern textured glass in the diamond window at the landing is very much out of place. That window should have many small panes of colored glass surrounding a larger pane of clear glass. It must have been broken at some point. How sad! Well, whatever you were hearing on the upper level, Kappy, it's either found a good place to hide or it has made an exit. Maybe it has decided that you are just a harmless explorer and it has chosen to be silent while you are here. I rather think we are better for not knowing what it is. Hold the phone! That banana is a big clue that there was someone upstairs. They were quietly trying to remove all traces of themselves and they forgot to take their banana! They were there watching you the whole time you were upstairs! Now THAT is creepy! The twin beds in that room are, sadly, not worth as much as they once were. Fashions have changed and "dark furniture" is simply not desirable any more. That's a real shame, as in a decade or so, that style will come back into favor and the furniture in this house, by then just splintered wood, would make an interior decorator weak in the knees. The last bedroom, though badly damaged by the roof collapse, is made poignant by the presence of the crib. The vignette speaks of loss and destruction made pure and holy by the new life cradled and secure within the crib. Now that's the kind of attic that makes you want to explore, to open boxes and cartons just to see what's inside. I like the wide, airy spaces (aside from the places where the roof is missing). I can imagine children playing up there on rainy days. Overall, this was a very welcoming, comfortable and well-appointed home fit for a growing family. I'm sure the last owners, when just a young couple, thought themselves very lucky to live in such a beautiful house! I can easily imagine children's voices making the rooms ring with laughter and song. Though it is now just a forlorn and fractured remnant of its former self, this house once knew happiness. Perhaps the children's memories are not at all happy, due to their own shadowed perceptions or just because they are remembered through the filter of their more recent, strained memories and painful encounters within their family. I hope that this house did not know pain and sadnesd, but only happiness and joy. The house itself was and still is lovely and has a feeling of pride at having sheltered a big family. If it is slowly failing now, its rooms filled with the bits and pieces of life that's no more, that is as it should be. Nothing lasts forever except memories and even those can become stained and twisted until they can no longer be viewed as they really were. This house is dying, but I hope that someone will pull out the treasures that remain and save some part of the past while there is time. Thanks very much, Kappy, for a good explore and for allowing me to contemplate the end of this house's life and of the approaching of the end of all things. If i seem morbid, it is because my precious husband was just diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and I am now faced with losing the man it took me far too long to find. We now walk through the dark valley of the shadow of the death that is coming too soon. This is our long goodbye. Now he does not know where his keys are. Soon, he will not know my name. Oh, hold tight to those you love, dear friends! You never know when fate will strike a blow which will separate you. Two ovens are for real cooks!😂 It used to be very popular to have two ovens. At Christmas and Thanksgiving you could bake the turkey and still be baking cakes and bread and such. You can't put things in with the turkey or the turkey baking will slow down and the other stuff wouldn't bake. That house looks really destroyed.😮😮😮

The owner of the home should be made to pay a fine if they don’t completely remove all the belongings. That fine could go to pay for someone to clean it out. That would save on our landfills and also help out poor people. It’s so sad to see all these things left behind. Please be careful! Thanks for sharing ❤

I recognize that wallpaper in the hallway upstairs. My grandparents had the exact same wallpaper in their house. When they moved in the 80s, the new owners ripped it out. Haven't seen that wallpaper in 40 years.

The refrigerator and washing machine are the typical Harvest Gold color of the 70's. Another choice for appliances was Avocado Green.

Nothing says 1970's like brown , harvest gold or olive green kitchen appliances and the bathrooms look very 1950's . This was once a neat old four square house . It looks like from what I could tell that it once had natural pine woodwork both upstairs and down . Too bad it was painted although at this point in the house's condition it doesn't matter . You can also tell this was grandmas house by the tell tale plastic guards around the switch plates .

Do you ever go in one of these houses and say. "Nope." And why wasn't this one of thoses? 2 wall ovens were the thing back in the day. Thanks for making these videos.

This had to be a beautiful house in it's day. I love the kitchen. For some reason I tend to judge a house by the kitchen. Maybe because that's the room that tends to keep a house (family) going. Too bad they "modernized" with that wonderful paneling in the dining room. That's the sewing machine I still have to this day. I just LOVE this house! The first bathroom you showed probably would have been put in around the 1950's. The pink & grey was a popular comination back then. Glad you were able to find out some of the history of this house. Maybe it wasn't as "ornate" as some of the past homes you've showed, but I would have loved living there.

I’m struck by all the beautiful Duncan Phyfe furniture in the bedrooms and dining room. Also a lot of crafters I know would love to have some of that vintage wallpaper. The house is a beautiful time capsule. Sad but sweet. Thanks for bringing us along!

I couldn't believe my eyes and had to go back and repeat the video…that long brown couch downstairs was the same couch my parents had. It pulled out to make a nice sized bed for company. When I had it removed one of the guys told me it was the heaviest couch he ever moved and that things were so well made back then. It did have a lot of metal in the frame.

That banana really got me! So did the pink & black bathroom.

Poor old house really is on it's last legs but the attic was amazing and oddly enough I didn't mind the bathroom either, neat tiling round awkward angles.

Loved you video on this once majestic house. You are so respectful of these abandoned places. I have one suggestion: when you see books please try more often to zoom or hold the books and catch the titles because books reveal so much about their owners. They are a beam of light into the souls of those who once lived there.

I had a hard time getting a "sense" of this house. It feels "fractured" somehow. lots of beautiful doorknobs there. The diamond shaped window and glass was gorgeous. Liked what looked like an old chest against the wall. All in all kind of uncomfortable feeling in there.

You're a brave man to be doing this by yourself.

Obviously a lot of remodeling in the 60's or 70's, but so much of the old woodwork and style is still there. The furniture is such a mixture of different times, but that one dresser downstairs was beautiful, as well as the bedroom sets upstairs, and look how they stand up to time as opposed to the "newer" pieces. Bathrooms were really cool too. And I really liked the attic, it's almost as if you could see the men putting it all together, I think because there is no paint or wallpaper or decorations, just the raw wood. Such a shame to see it go down the way it is. Thank you Kappy, and stay safe!!

I had a double oven in my kitchen back in the 70's. It was great when I was fixing holiday meals for both families together. So very sad that the furniture was not auctioned off before decay set in. Very nice older pieces. Such a waste.

What a shame, it looks like it could have been saved years ago. Maybe they had no heirs or those still alive don’t want to be bothered. Why not sell it to people that would fix it up and respect the old workmanship.

My family and I lived in Albuquerque, NM in the 70s. In our definitely 70s kitchen, there was a double oven that was green. We used it all the time. Didn't have to have it, but it was nice to have. I guess that was back when the electrix bill wasn't that high .

Interesting story to go with this house in the most beautiful place years of stuff left behind you usually find the children don't like the loneliness of the surroundings they like to live where their's more life going on great find .

My daughter put two ovens in her house when they built it. Great idea. I loved this house and the layout. So many nice pieces of old furniture left. So sad. Sometimes people just can't afford to keep these up. Great find but be careful!

What a beautiful house this was! To bad so much good furniture is not being saved for someone else to use.

You can tell the kitchen was done in the sixties by the copper double ovens and fridge, the cabinetry, and that light fixture! We had a similar fixture in our sixties-built kitchen. It could be moved up or down to adjust how close you wanted the light, but if you pulled it down too much, it wouldn't go up again!

Nice house,looks kind of roomy back in the day.Its sad the remaining family disregarded it,it's still in some parts intact.Could be made into a dollhouse,needs much TLC !! Love the end of video pictures, beautiful!! Thanks kappy 💯👍😎
