I think it’s a duplication glitch

Yeah it is a duplication glitch, which you can notice because every time I do it, the number of those materials increase.

I did a glitch called "zuggle" which lets us put unlimited weapons onto Link's hand so in this case I zuggled 4 Royal Halberds together then I fused a Black Boss Bokoblin Horn to my weapon which fuses it to all 4 of the Royal Halberds. Not only that, but the Royal weapons in TotK have a special perk where they do extra damage (I think it was 2x damage) when doing a flurry rush and you can see while fighting Ganondorf we only deal damage to him in a flurry rush. I think this adds up to ~234 damage per hit but I could be wrong about that.

We actually throw a wing capsule down to where some constructs are, and if we hit a fan that is down below, it activates the dialogue with the construct where they give you the battery. The purpose of this is to avoid a way longer dialogue that we would normally get after the Fuse shrine if we did not already get the battery by then.

Its slightly faster

Playing in russian gives you one less textbox, saving 1.1 seconds.

You just select the zonai devices you want to dupe and press Y and B at the same time. Note that if you want to do this with materials, you have to be either in the middle of a shield surf, or have your paraglider out when you enter the inventory. Also this only works on versions 1.0.0 - 1.1.1 of TotK so if you are on 1.2.1 it will not work. If you want to get version 1.0.0, you have 2 options; you can mod your switch, or if you have a physical copy of TotK, then you can factory reset your switch.

@@jacob-fr5zi Yes, it will delete all of your save data on every game on your switch. Although, I've heard that there is a way to back up your save data on your games via cloud saves. I'd look into it first though.

By doing a glitch called Quick Drop Smuggle, you can put Link into a state where he can gain infinite height and perform something called Arrow Smuggle Flight. If you would like to learn how to do it then be sure to join the Tears of the Kingdom Speedrunning discord and ask for any help that you may need.

@@nicholaspickles7940 Quick Drop Smuggle is v1.0.0 exclusive, but there are many different arrow smuggle setups and at least one that works on every version. Unfortunately, the higher version you are on, the slower/harder the setup is.

French was the fastest for Breath of the Wild, but Russian is faster in Tears of the Kingdom due to some shorter text. There are a few less dialogue boxes which saves about one second. If you've seen people playing in french in this game, then it's likely that the runner speaks french as it took a few months to find out that Russian was faster, so for a while people just played in their native language.

@@an_egg_guy wow, I couldn’t even think that in some game in Russian the dialogue would be faster, usually they play Japanese or French versions for this purpose

For people like me, it is the most fun way to play the game, but remember, speedrunning is not for everybody!

same could be said about BOTW speedruns. I find this to be absolutely crazy in the best way possible, that the speedrunner goes from leaving the great sky island to fighting the final boss in a few minutes.

The joy comes from knowing you're a speedrunning god.

Particularly the 4 minute unskippable cutscene at the very beginning :(

@@MyNameOnKZfaq Technically you can on every version, but in this case, because I'm running on v1.0.0, which is the only version where the intro clip works, it saves over a minute to go through the intro every time if you do the clip and the out of bounds movement well.
