Just quick touchdesigner example how to create noise represented by chars from ASCII table. And of course you can use your name instead of ASCII or whatever you want else.

Hello! Thank you for the tutorial :) I was wondering how to make in the second example using the simple expression 'my text' [absTime.frame %7] to make the transition between each character slower? That would make a lot of difference on what im doing here ! Thanks!

Awesome tutorial! Any tips on replacing the text with images (using moviefilein to import small pngs maybe)? I'm working in a 20x20 grid aiming to change images based on noise but the grid only shows various black and grey boxes instead

I have a problem when I try to transform the size of the grid (grid2) to 0.04 the square dissapears and I don't know the solution

thank you for the video! all worked. i tried to composite it with another layer and each char in the grid seems to have a black background color box. do you know how can i remove it?

Welcome! Maybe try to composite with ADD blend mode?

Great tutorial thanks! My text is very low res, I tried rising canvas res to 4K and noise pixel format to 32bit rgb, didn't help, I have decent GPU (geforce 3080). What could be the problem?

maybe your textTOP have the resolution of 256x256. Try 1024x1024 :)

Having issues with the Texture map as soon as I assign the textureIndex chop to the W param I get nothing instead of the cycling values. I've checked each step and value, started over from scratch but it doesn't work each time. Stumped.

Found it. newer versions default texture mode to Replace not Offset in the Instance 2 section.

привет, а где лучше делать динамическое изменение цвета текста и фона? после рендера или после ноды 3д текстуры? чет пока не могу разобраться

Привет. Если нужно менять цвет отдельных букв, то можно сразу в ноде Text его задавать. Если для всех сразу, то в материале можно (нода Constant). Либо вообще через инстансинг в ноде Geo во вкладке Instance можно передать параметры для цвета каждой отдельной плашки с буквой. У меня в других видео были примеры с управлением цветом через инстансинг.

При экспорте значений из null в noise не появляется пункт "relative chop reference", что могу делать неправильно? Mac OS, последний билд программы.

Я на старом таче делал, там по-другому немнго система ссылок вроде была сделана. А у тебя какие варианты появляются? попробуй другой выбрать "Export CHOP" или "CHOP reference"

When I try to export a value I dont get the "Relative CHOP Reference" option avaible...only the regular export....I'm on a MAC

Hey！Bonjour, I find my TD cannot work like you after you attach your Constant MAT on the GEO. Basicly is just random chr flying around, but no Noise Instancing effect on it. My environment is MAC(11.6), TD pro, Thanks!
