Ha I did a similar video before, but make sure you buy 12,000 grit belt as well, they do have that for sale. Also, consider the Blade Grinding Attachment, the belts are wider and much easier to work with. The Blade Grinding Attachment also allows both sides to go "outward" direction.

Yeah, the base work sharp is not ideal for swords

bien pensé , mais il faut que tu travailles ta lame avec les deux mains pour une meilleure régularité , et coincé la machine pour éviter qu'elle bouge pendant l'affûtage , sinon merci pour cette vidéo sympa :)

Hey what cool video I'm going to sub, what would you say would be a good angle for a heavy cavalry saber edge on the work sharp?
@070790ish3 жыл бұрын
I do all my swords at 20 degrees. I have a 1796 light cavalry saber but it’s blade geometry is pretty bad on it, I need to spend sometime on it and might not be able to do 20 degrees on it.

So is the Ken Onion edition better than just the plain Work Sharp? I'm assuming it is, but would I get similar results with the original and not the Ken Onion edition?
@070790ish4 жыл бұрын
Billy Heaning I’m not sure what the differences are between them, where I bought mine they just had the ken onion one. I would think they would be pretty similar.

@@070790ish Are you pulling on the bottom trigger while pulling the blade through?

Just seen this comment, I set the speed of it so I have less things to focus on.

You have and interesting technique. I will try a couple of these tricks. I’ve always used 25 and medium speed, and used a leather strop belt with rouge, and never pulled the angles like that. I want to try your way. Looks like you get faster results than me.

does the sword have a double bevel now ?
@070790ish Жыл бұрын
Kinda but it’s gradual and it’s a very shallow, probably 20 or less angle. So there basically no drag through the target 👍

What katana are you working with? Type steel ?

It’s a Maru rensue 5160 katana by Hanwei

Nice machine. I’m afraid I ruined my Hanwei edge just by using a strop
