I agree (about toughbuilt) and don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the brand. Great hand tools. But... I'm just baffled with how they either let it slip their mind about the half boxes or that they released it knowing. They should've waited just a bit longer. But I assume they probably really wanted to get it out before the holidays. An adapter (unless they nail it) just sounds like extra work and more parts that aren't needed. In the long term I really hope they can solve it without changing the entire thing because I'd hate to see them pull a DeWalt where they have an old system and a new system.

What if i have two half boxes with very heavy items and some fulls with very light but bulky items? What if i use a full size box way more often than two halfs? There are also tools like vacuums that are halfs but have packout on top, not just the base. Why can't i stack a vacuum and a half tool box or a few half organizers with a full on top? I think you're only considering your usage. Clearly, it's an issue for several owners since the brand is taking steps to fix it. Having to back track and create a solution, means there was initially a problem or flaw.
@recyclespinning98397 ай бұрын
The big flaw is that almost all manufacturers have not made them so you can work out of them 😂. You still have closed boxes stacked together with tools inside. You have to unstack all of them and set up your tools somewhere else. Hello , get it? The Rigid ones I've used for 10+ years are easy to stack, and then I just use a portable Toughbuilt table to set up my tools. If another company designs them to work out of, I may consider them and sell my Rigid boxes. I have the 1st gen Rigid. I like the rolling box better without the disconnect feature..

@mr.m25568 ай бұрын
I hope they will redesign their 1/2 organizers. The latch is weak and easy to accidentally unlock. And the handle should not extend beyond the existing stack form. Because when the stack tips and falls over that handle will take the full weight of the fall and be destroyed and the contents of that case will be all over because they picked a easy open latch and not a rugged to handle falls and abuse without opening. They are off to a good start but they need to tweak a few things to be on par with the red barron.

How about just getting things together after a long day and wanting to stack and leave and not having to worry about the order of boxes. Just stack as it's closed up and who cares if some large boxes end up on top of smaller ones on the way to the truck. How about my two packout vacuums? I use those rarely. So i have them on the bottom and a full size box on top that i use a lot and doesn't weigh much. So i can easily move it to the side if i need a vacuum or both. 😬. I wouldn’t go that far. Nothing is perfect
@a.i.gdallas35819 ай бұрын
You can't securely attach the small.boxes to the packout crate and you can't attach the ammo.boxes to the packout crate so no milwaukee isn't perfect either but oh shit the RedArmy will come 4 me now lol

So now they r going to make u spend more money to buy an adapter plate bc of an issue they created

Or… wait to buy the half boxes until they are redesigned. Everything else is great

Simply dont stack your half boxes under whole boxes. Problem solved.

I could have found all these issues and more had i been invited to the focus groups. Anyone who's baled hay knows the value and benefit of being *able to* 'tie off' the top of the stack with a single bale.

I'm actually very surprised at this oversight. Someone at the design team is losing their shit. I handled them in Lowes and I like them but wouldn't buy. The internal locking mechanisms seem much more vulnerable to sawdust, snow, rain, mud, etc, than my packouts and ridgids. I've had my packouts and ridgids freeze together and had no issue forcing them apart knowing the packouts only have one locking point that I had full control over and the ridgids basic external locking points are completely exposed. I wouldn't risk forcing these with the one switch controling both locking feet. Seems like a failure point if it gets too cold or if any debris gets in the wrong spot.

You have to buy a plate to fix their fubar

It’s not that big of a deal

@@JakeWeihe it is considering the cost already ..they are only 10 bucks difference from pack out … you shouldn’t have to buy a plate to fix a fumble … but sheep will be sheep

I was about to buy all their boxes but with the half box issue i decided to pass, I'll wait until next year. Also they should of made the handle wider and sturdier like the Milwaukee and Flex. Some of the plastic should of been metal, like on the bottom for the handle release, the lock/unlock lever, and maybe even the latch. They made the plastic look "metal like" with whatever paint or additive to the plastic. I'm a contractor and was looking for a mobile solution for my van, think I'll go with Milwaukee Packout, Flex Stack Pack, and even the Klein Modbox for now until the things with Toughbuilt get fixed. This is just my opinion but i think the corner mounting tracks should of been aluminum or something other than steel, seems like a rust point to me once it gets all scratched. The inside of the boxes could of been about an inch wider too. I am glad to see Toughbuilt is listening and is acting quickly to make changes.
