I made a few mistakes but the start strategy seemed to hold up. I think you could improve on this a bit, but even with some mistakes it seems doable if you go for the Dragon Isles, then kill Ghorst and try to ally up with Cathay. Once confederated with Caledor I think you would want to get tons of trade started.

The key to a successful Imrik campaign is to level up Imrik as quickly as possible. Once he hits level 14, and gets his dragon mount, he starts to become a one man army. Early invocation of the Eldrazor rite helps him level up very quickly.

A faction that specializes in fire damage... right next to the Chaos Dwarfs. That alone makes this start near impossible. On top of everything else, this whole campaign is just very difficult. Not impossible, just full of difficulties and enemies.

Heir’s reaction to forgetting his noble is exactly why I play on legendary - mistakes matter especially early in a campaign.

A good way to win that first battle without draining ammo is to use the fireball on your mage to spam their dwarf warriors. This will force them forward and if you have something in range of the grudge throwers they will stay behind to shoot. This leaves them vulnerable to your dragon or dragon princes. Whats happen to our Fabio Haired one chasing his Dragons.. was if you do as you must and take the Skaven fight then the Greenskinz come hording in waves. The Nagash area west was delay.

I agree that taking the time to make those cheesy moves against the AI is not that fun and can get repetitive quickly. I like to have a more balanced total war experience. Thanks for the video heir!

This was interesting. It was nothing like I played this campaign, basically I brute forced through the dwarves and then quickly attacked the chaos dwarves. Somehow got a non aggression pact with Ghorst who was at war with Nurgle so I could focus a bit on the skaven and expanded to the west and to the north. After that the campaign was not that bad. You could just wait for the confederation and stay with the other elves abandoning all the starting territory if you really can't handle all the enemies. My only issue with your strategy is that the climate on the isles is not great for elves so everything costs more and takes longer. Overall this was one of my favorite campaigns.

I prefer taking out Drazhoath before going for the Dragon Isles. Can be a hard fight, espesically since he gets the OP bombardment ability from his main settlement but very much worth it imo. Also, getting his defeat trait on Imrik (15% missile resist and 10% income from settlements) + farming it on a few arch mages will make your early economy abit smoother.

I keep commenting on reddit and facebook about taking the dragon isles and I just get laughed at lol. I made my campaign half ass work by takkng the isles and taking the minor half elf faction to the south. Penalty was worth having a complete province away from chaos. Pulled the same tactic with Noctilus, High Elves/Settra/Mazdamundi all delcared war on me and took the Galleons Graveyard, I went to that small island chain and took it from the Elves, set up a base and beat my campaign lol.

I enjoy playing on Campaign Very Hard and Battle Normal. I can play more normal on the battlefield and on Map it is more challenging.

%100 agree with everything you said about legendary campaigns. Constantly cheesing the game and wasting hours of my day fooling the AI just to win a couple of battles is not something I would ever consider 'fun'.

reguardless what campaign i play, i get bored after like 50 turns, before that its fine , but eventually when a doomstack gets put together, its just steamroll autoresolve on legendary difficuty, only factions i struggle with is greenskins (except grom)

battle off manuver or hidie seek.. if youre an elf the lands got to be looked at as trees are your prime not havign guns cannon mortar woods blocking foes bows maybe look at woodelfs avoiding trees blocking edge of glade?- Fight like Commandos Rangers ambush.

You keep mentioning having to cheese on legendary. I really disagree. On TWW2, yes and I always played VH. But in 3 the AI has become so passive. I play on legendary with mods to make it harder, and it still feels like I snowball within 50 turns, and I never cheese a battle or mass ranged units or anything. I always keep mixed armies and just fight as though the opponent were a human. You can lose some campaigns, but the majority are doable and if you survive the first 20-30 turns , you will likely win. Of course not all campaigns are made equal and some LLs are easy no matter how difficult you try and make it, while some are definitely unwinnable at higher difficulties without cheese.

yup this is why I hate Warhammer total war I play because I love the lore but this is easily the worst total war to date. Legendary is just stupid not even fun unrealistic, the reason I play TW is so I can role play and having to cheese the game or spamming one unit or a doom stack breaks my immersion. I played every Historical title since Shogun 1 back in 2001 I hate watching armies blob up so stupid who would do that in real life> have 7 units occupy the same terrain and oh fire ball get 363 kills with mage isnt war fun
