You know what the best part of thos video is? No, it's not the fluid animation, the excellent 3-dimensional rendition of the spellcards, or how each of the partners contributes to the fight in a way that is perfectly in line with canon. No, the BEST part of this video is how Koishi and Reimu talk with each other and we know what they're saying despite there being no voices because their faces show their emotions so clearly, and we can also see how they're having fun! Because having fun with magic is what living in Gensokyo is about.

Even after rewatching this for the third time, Koishi is still so fcking adorable.

Love the fact that Reimu started off by attacking Koishi by retaliating koishi's attack. Then feels guilty shrugging off Koishi. And finally understood that Koishi is really innocent at heart and just wants to play. Reimu accepts playing with Koishi.

I've re-watched so many times, and this is the first time I noticed that at 9:57 Koishi has this 3 frame expression of being surprised by the bullets. Details like this are exactly the reason I revisit minusT's videos every once in a while.

I really love Koishi’s spellcard names, especially “Philosophy of a Hated Person” (10:10) and “Subterranean Rose” (11:00). “Philosophy of a Hated Person”, the embodiment of Koishi’s traumatic past. Koishi was (and still is) the kindest person to live, yet she had a weak heart. Her powers of reading people’s minds caused them to shun and hate her, hunting her down like the roses in this spell card. The pain and suffering of being hated was too much to bear for her and caused her to seal away her powers causing her to lose her own consciousness and making her fade from other’s consciousness. Literally becoming a ghost of her former self. “Subterranean Rose”, the beautiful flower that blooms in absolute darkness, never to be seen and appreciated, just like Koishi. In the off chance you do see her, she’ll play with you, make you smile, and make your whole day better, but as soon as you take your eyes of her she disappears into your subconsciousness and all your memories of her are gone, the only thing left is you wondering why you were so happy just a few minutes before, not knowing why. Loving the symbolism of MinusT’s portrayal of Subterranean Rose’s final stages. Koishi ascends above the clouds, no longer a rose that blooms deep underground, but high in the skies, where everyone can see and appreciate her. Koishi is such a sad and tragic, yet poetically beautiful character, and MinusT’s depiction of her is just perfect. Thank you for making this masterpiece.

this truly is the best video ever, since i first watched it i bookmarked it and i come back to this every once in a while to just feel that emotion it brings me koishi's interpretation is amazing, the cheerful happy and curious girl who has a knack for playing with anyone she finds, and after encountering reimu, being able to release her most playful, storytelling and beautiful danmaku. The small details like koishi being upset to start super ego, her happiness that reimu can see her, the way she goes from being curious to truly enjoying herself is truly majestic. The final scene always brings me to tears, the mix of the music, the beautiful background and koishi's happiness and amazing animation always hits me emotionally. Truly the best video i have ever watched

Sanae absolutely went off in her fight. The human-god girl tried her best. Onto the meat of this animation....I don't have many words except this is epic and aesthetic af. Koishi's mannerisms are as endearing as I had hoped. Youkai Polygraph, Philosophy of a Hated Person, and Subterranean Rose were somehow far, far more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. (Those three in particular got me, but all the spells were amazing.) Koishi's ascent for the final phase of Subterranean Rose was a next level aesthetic as well. Really the cherry on top of this incredible animation. Next up, Reimu vs Marisa!!!!!! Lots of hype for that as well.

Koishi is the angel none of us deserved but got anyway.

Touhou is such a fantastic game and to put in a 3D element perspective like this with the spell cards is just outstandingly lovely to watch. I love the animations you put into them so much that and the moments in here are so beautiful to see. The greatest part about MinusT vids is not just the amazing animation but the animation and the music choices working in an insane harmony that brings it all to a climax that either alone could never even dream of invoking.

If you claimed to celebrate Koishi Day and didn't watch this Masterpiece can you really call that celebrating Koishi Day?

Wow, the whole fight itself was like Marisa VS Flandre, Reimu's really kind to Koishi. The fight with Sanae is also epic as well.

The animation as a whole was gorgeous, this interpretation of Koishi is unbearably adorable, her fluffy, wavy hair is more than I can even handle right now, and every single frame from 11:17 to 11:21 was absolutely breath-taking; Koishi finally allowing herself to bloom out in the open almost brought a tear to my eye. I've stumbled on something wonderful and I cannot believe my luck. I'm rooting for you forever, this kind of quality is indescribable.

This entire video is a veritable masterpiece that showcases insane skill in animating and many, MANY other things-but I have to say, the best moment for me is at 3:07 when Sanae uses her final spellcard. The music pairing is insanely good, the way it's animated is fantastic, and the way she resorts to using her shot types from 12 is a fantastic touch that I wouldn't have even thought to have put in , were I the creator. The whole bit with Sanae is fantastic really, the music just brings it to new heights. I also loved the interesting spin put on Koishi's attacks and character, what with the spells like Super-Ego, Philosophy of a Hated Person and Subterranean Rose tying into some actually character driven moments, as well as the latter having some interesting thematic parts as another viewer commented. How one man can do this I cannot fathom. Having been a massive fan ever since discovering MinusT shortly after the release of Marisa VS Flandre, the jumps in quality are mind-boggling. Anyone who reads this, go back and watch his first 2 videos-they are great in their own right, but the latest offerings make them look almost amateur.

As amazing as the video itself is (and I already have no word to depict how amazing it actually is), I think we don't give enough credit to this commentary section. I mean, this the BEST commentary section I saw in AGES, just reading the tons of incredibly thoughtful comments, the character interpretations, the sheer tons of LOVE everyone gives here just break me into tears, and I didn't think it would even still be possible with today's internet. Touhou has the best community ever made, I love you guys and you should be just as proud of yourselves as MinusT and Zun for creating such miracles.

Another masterpiece from minusT. Koishi's characterization in this video is masterful. All the small details, Koishi's emotions switching form happy to sad and back, Koishi's heart occasionally pulsing, Reimu's attitude towards Koishi evolving from dismissive to annoyed to actually friendly over the battle, music timing perfectly with Koishi's spells, especially with "Philosophy of a Hated person", Koishi rising above the clouds during "Subterranean Rose", that faint smile Reimu has at the end of "Subterranean Rose", and that little bit of movement in Koishi's eye at 12:13, and there is a lot more that others have mentioned and that i probably haven't noticed yet.

I'm absolutely in love with this, the fact that this is done the way it is makes it so bright, the models are so detailed, the brightness of the orbs and the patterns are truly marvelous because holy jeezus is it so good, the camera angle is so natural, everything is so good, even if you take time to make this it is definitely worth it.

One of my favorite things of this video is how minusT shows Reimu's motion. With her stance and momentum she always seems to be headed straight even when she obviously is dodging around Sanae and Koishi's shots. It's a very nice nod to how she's described in things like Grimoire of Marisa and ZUN interviews, and gives her fighting style much needed character. Bravo!

The emotions shown are incredible and you can tell what they're saying even if you don't have the dialogue memorized. I cannot stop rewatching this video because of how amazing it is! Minus T is by far the best animator alive. ( please don't fight me over the " best animator" this is just my opinion )

She's having SO much fun playing danmaku with Reimu. And that music was on topic. You really work magic with Blender MinusT. One of the masters of animation here on YT.
