I'll try to summarize the parts of Touhou that are good to know for this fight. Our setting is Gensokyo, land of fantasy. Commonly inhabited by youkai, supernatural Japanese monsters from folklore. They fought several battles with humans trying to exorcise them up until 1885. The youkai were sealed off in Gensokyo behind the Great Hakurei Barrier as humans became more scientifically inclined and skeptical of fantasy. Spell Card duels are enforced in Gensokyo to fairly resolve disputes. It's a contest of skill and beautiful bullet patterns, not raw power. Even someone weak can beat someone strong with this system, and it ensures that fights don't end up as bloody death matches. Reimu Hakurei is the main character. She's a shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine, which maintains the barrier between Gensokyo and the outside world. Reimu is straightforward, naturally powerful, but a little lazy (as in, she goes "not this shit again" whenever she has to resolve a yet another strange incident). She "exterminates" youkai, but actually just shoots the shit out of anyone (youkai or not) who stands in her way and begrudgingly befriends them when they crash her place later. She attacks with yin-yang orbs, ofuda, and barriers. Although pretty much everyone in Gensokyo can fly, Reimu's ability is so strong that at the highest level she can fly outside reality. Marisa Kirisame is the other main character. Chaotic witch best friend of Reimu. Doesn't have any innate talent, but works really hard to make sure that isn't noticed with very flashy and cool spells. Has a tendency to steal things, like attacks (her signature Master Spark was originally Yuka's) and books from the Scarlet Devil Mansion's library. Lives in the Forest of Magic, where she experiments with and hoards a lot of things. Marisa attacks with tons of colorful stars, laser beams, and explosives. Shipped with everyone. Sakuya Izayoi is the elegant head maid of Remilia, the vampire of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She can manipulate timespace and is very good with knives. Her backstory has only been hinted at, but it's been theorized that she's a reformed Vampire Slayer/Serial Killer/Lunarian. She is the third main character of Perfect Cherry Blossom. Basically a Dio reference. Yukari Yakumo is one of the most powerful beings in the series, being able to manipulate anything that counts as a boundary (which is pretty much everything). She is wise and mysterious, but also playful and spends most of her time sleeping. Has a shikigami (familiar) named Ran, who has her own named Chen. If there's one character who can be said to be the head honcho of Gensokyo, it's Yukari. It is heavily hinted that she was involved in the creation of Gensokyo itself. Yukari is one of the only youkai who can pass through the Great Hakurei Barrier freely, which is why she throws stop signs and trains. Yukari was best friends with Yuyuko when Yuyuko was alive and continued to be so after Yuyuko's suicide, though Yuyuko forgot everything. She might have been the one who sealed Yuyuko's body in the Saigyou Ayakashi. Yukari weakened the boundary between Gensokyo and the Netherworld at Yuyuko's request. She knew Yuyuko would not succeed with blooming the Saigyou Ayakashi, but was too sleepy to really protest much or turn it back to normal when everything was over. Reimu/Marisa/Sakuya head over to make Yukari properly repair it, and it turned into this fight.

It's good to see that this 20 or more year old franchise still have new people coming to the fandom! :D Just to give you some background information for upcoming videos of minusT. No spoilers, just background in order to understand some of the scenes in the videos Subterranean Stars 1. Gensokyo(Place where game takes place) is where all the fantasies and lost things end up. And these fantasies are mostly classic fantasies all around the world but... can be futuristic. Upcoming antagonist uses power of nuclear 'fusion' which is still considered of hypothesis to modern science(talking about Cold fusion type, not the nuclear fusion reaction itself). 2. Due to nuclear power, things went bit crazy down at the 'Old hell' which resulted in geyser, hot spring and souls from hell escaping to the ground and Protagonist decides to check what the hell is going on with the help of 3 other yokais(mythical creatures/monsters. Basically any Non-human humanoid in this setting). 3. Gensokyo is where human and yokai lives in "harmony"(this can be sarcastic depending on interpretation. Original creator of game never clarifies things and enjoys watching other peoples interpretation). Those who could not stand with it gathered at the 'Old hell' and made an agreement with rest of Gensokyo that no yokai can move from one side to the other. That's why they help human protagonist indirectly instead of solving problem on their own. Brambly Boundaries 1. Antagonist is sister of a girl in pink hair and an external eye who appears in Subterranean stars. These sisters are one of the most famous yokais in Japan called 'Satori' which can read your mind. 2. However, this one decided to shut her external eye to stop reading others mind as she could not withstand the hatred from the others. She have fulfilled her wish with a bit of price... Her ability now changed to 'Controlling Unconsciousness'. I said 'Controlling' but it's more of the opposite. She does something unconsciously without thinking and others except for her sister does not notice her presence as she is almost like an unconsciouness in flesh at this state. So she is eager to be noticed by someone and will be really happy if that actually happens... Also, she is basically a child in her mind.

Yukari got som talent

Hi again! Well there some information about characters in this video: Sakuya Izayoi - Human Maid in Scarlet Devil Mansion, which have power to manipulate time. For some reason she uses only kunais and knives. Also she is very devoted to Remilia. Chen(Cat in Yukari's team) is bakeneko. She can use impressive black arts, but only possesses the intellect of a human child. Also she is Ran's shikigami. Ran(Nine-tailed fox in Yukari's team). As for her other abilities, she is capable of quickly increasing her physical capabilities, but other than this, nothing more have especially come to light. As a strong youkai, she is probably able to use various other kinds of sorcery, but since she pretty much never performs actions alone it's still unclear. Yukari Yakumo - a Great Youkai Sage, which have power to control boundaries of everything(even life and death). This power is godlike(well maybe even more powerful), because with that ability she can control the whole world structure. Her gaps is gaps in time-space between places. She is Phantasm stage(Touhou doesn't have any other Phantasm stages) boss. Reimu and other fighting her, because she weaken the barrier between Gensokyo and Netherworld(but even after all this she didn't do anything about it).

I haven't been getting notifications because I haven't clicked the notification bell (I have just done so now, as I really enjoy your reactions) but so far, your Touhou MinusT reactions have managed to always appear in my recommended on youtube's homepage (despite having only seen your first reaction video). I guess KZfaq really does know what I want to watch. A great reaction, by the way. I personally do not find most of the fights to be THAT great in visual quality, most of the time it appears as just a mess to me, not helped by the fact that I can only watch in 720p before the video begins to lag, it is only when things like the butterfly danmaku (the bullets being fired) and Sakuya's awesome knife attack at 6:26 come out, that I get really hyped. HOWEVER, Brambley Boundaries, the newest of MinusT's work, I find even the simple attacks to be a joy to look at, and the special attacks (called spell cards) are even more of a joy to see in 3D, I am eagerly anticipating your reaction to the newest release.

Ok now for some lore clarifications™ The three playable characters in touhou 7, Reimu the shrine maiden, Marisa the witch and Sakuya the maid of the vampire, go against Yukari, the youkai of boundaries. Not really going in detail on why they fight, but i'd like to quickly explain the characters' powers you don't know about yet. Sakuya is, as you noticed, a maid that throws knives and can indeed stop time. The big one here is Yukari. She is likely one of the most powerful entities in touhou, and also if we put her in other series. She has the absolutely incredobly creative and limitless ability to manipulate boundaries. Now, you may think that it sounds useless, but that is FAAAR from the truth. She can manipulate ANY kind of border. Physical and metaphorical. In the fight she used some example of this, making tears in the fabric of space time to attack, escape and throw trains and more at the heroines. But she can do much more. For example, she can control the border between lies and truth, up or down, life and death, reality and dream, night and day, and the list goes on indefinitely. It's basically an all powerful basically unstoppable simple yet devastating ability, because everything has a conceptual border to it.

Trust me Lano! Yukari is FAR from Princess Peach. The woman and her range of power are pretty crazy. Also, I'm not going to explain where they're fighting at but you saying they're fighting in a Faraway place kind of isn't far off.

Yukari is one of the Sages Of Gensokyo. She can manipulate boundaries of sense. Light and Dark, Dreams and Reality, Motion And Silence. She has a lot of potential but she is very lazy and never takes anyone seriously. And Rest In Peace Headphones. Necrofantasia is cruel to headphones. (Her theme)

Ok you probably know reimu and Marissa. The third of the 3 is sakuya. Shevjs the time and space manipulating maid of remillia. The vampire you watched yesterday. The opponent was Yukari Yakumo. She is a youkai who can manipulate the boundry and border of anything. Yes life and death boundary sure, in and out yea, time space, yep. She is the phantasm boss of touhou 7, you know the 1 you want to play..... to get to her you have to beat the game and the extra stage. Good luck
