its because people often make Ran tall, she is probably short like the majority of other characters, so Chen being a little shorter than her makes sense.

@@--_--_--_--_ officially ran is the same height as reimu and Alice whilst Chen is the same height as rumia cirno and the scarlet sisters. Yukari is taller than ran and also yuyuko despite fan art popularly making them both ahem same sized ladies

1:43 feels like it's missing some context. EDIT:The missing context is that "slave" is the term this game uses for the secondary character due to plot reasons I don't remember.
