About 6 years ago, I played another touhou fan-game - Koumajou Densetsu 2. It's similar to Luna Nights and you also play as Sakuya. Back then, the quality of my videos was crap, but it didn't matter, since nobody watched me anyway.
After playing Luna Nights I kinda want to replay both Koumajou games and make new videos. But only after all the other games on my list, so it probably gonna take me another 6 years.

The most terrifyingly impressive thing about this video is that the inclusion of the pre-fight banters means that Gellot had to beat each boss, hitless, without using any time powers or special skills, *on the first attempt* within that save file.

Late reply but bosses will redo their dialogue if you reboot the game, they only skip it after the first attempt since the game was booted up. Still terrifying.

True but, I had 2 times where Sakuya would get stuck out of the room and one where she fell through the world, which caused the game to crash. Other than that, I'd say flawless

Yeah, especially when 1000 Knives is one of the most broken skills in the game giving you full invulnerability during the skill while also granting you graze for any attacks that pass through you, allowing you to keep using 1000 Knives. A no hit using 1000 Knives would've been easy

Actually, the term is 'Graze', a mainstay of the Touhou franchise where staying as close to an enemy's attacks without getting hit is rewarded score-wise.

It's Graze, a mechanic in the Touhou games. It increases your score every time you narrowly avoid an attack. In this game, it rewards MP and HP recovery. (Unsure about the HP one.)

We came up with completely different methods for Marisa's master spark. I just stand directly under it, and right before she shoots I move in the opposite direction she's facing. She stops attacking as soon as she notices you're behind her.

Bought this game because I saw this video. Came back after I beat Marisa to see how you got through the Master Spark without using the time stop. Apparently you didn't use many levels or any items, either. O.O Excellent game so far, and, of course, excellent gameplay by Gellot!

If you don't know, @I R Baboon, Metroidvania games refer to a specific sub-genre of action platformer games. They're marked with labyrinthine map layouts, permanent power ups that need to be purchased or obtained by defeating bosses, and are usually 2-d. Mega-man games are closely related to metroidvania games in that they tend to follow the trend of 'power up by defeating boss' and 'labyrinthine levels' even if the mega-man games use single stages instead of an intereconnected maze. Given that the game is intentionally designed to fall within the Metroidvania spectrum, I should hope it reminds you of those sorts of games.

Just somehow finished this challenge, video was huge help, and by the God how the fuck do you make it look so easy!? Remilia timings are so brutal, I have no consistency with them. Also that trick with hovering over Marisa's Final Spark was simply insane, where did you even get it from. I've gained another ton of appreciation for your work

I've been trying so hard. Remi in the only one that gives me trouble. How do you dodge her orbs? When i stand in between them, I still get hit.

@@justRICHTOFEN It's been awhile, but, if I remember correctly, orb hitboxes are a bit weird. They aren't really orbs, they are kinda dynamic and change as they fall down, but overall maintain kinda rectangular shape; wide, but flat. You can't avoid them by simply standing on ground, because they overlap completely on horizontal axis, but if you jump into them as they fall, then there's a gap somewhere at the level Remilia hovers at, which gets easier to squeeze through if you jerk slightly along the slope of their fall, on top of hitbox of the lower sphere. It's pretty hard, and fact Gellot gets it right multiple times in a row still amazes me.

Recently purchased this game as it was on sale, plus missing the Metroidvania vibes. Was not disappointed but damn this was difficult. You gotta "Git Gud" here but you. You, it's like a walk in the park for you. :O
