Hola Brandon, it was really interesting to me as well. I have never been on a ship like this before, these sailors were very brave indeed to cross the ocean in these.

Spanish History is exhilaratingly romantic and adventurous! ... though still never denying its many perils. ... Now, with modern technology and hygiene who would not love to be at the aft, on the balcony, slowly sailing and drifting away under a clear stary night?! ... My ancestors were Canary Islanders - main European settlers in the South West, and most of the Americas. ... Our people, mostly out of desperation, chanced our lives on these ships away from a constrained Canary archipelago for better lives in expansive territories of the Americas.

Spanish history is absolutely incredible. To see what one of these ships looked like which sailed to the Americas was fascinating. As you said, the first sailors to brave the Atlantic must have been very brave or very desperate. Gracias Jose.⚓️

I loved this video. It was so cool to see this ship. Thank you for showing it to us in such detail. Galeones brought many things from the Americas. Europe got potatoes, tomatoes, tabaco, cocoa, corn, etc. from places like Perú and México. I think it is so nice to have a recreation of one them and have it take you back to those times. I really enjoyed seeing it and all the information about it.

When are you coming to the Phlippines? It would be great to see a galleon sail around the islands again. The Manila Galleons sailed between Mexico and Manila for almost 3 centuries but most Filipinos today have never seen a real one.

According to Google they used Galleons to transport, gold, supplies and passengers. So I believe that what they used looked like this ship. I believe that they had much larger ones than this though.

Stop with the camera on "me..me...me." That is totally unprofessional in a documentary. Talk to the people that built the boat or have an historical knowledge of such ships.

Everyone knows what the Spanish empire was doing in the Americas. This wasn’t unique to Spain mind you. Yes these ships were used to transport tons and tons of gold and silver and sugar. However as a Spaniard it’s still part of their history. A small European nation crossing a vast dangerous ocean on these little wooden ships is rather incredible. Like it says in the title this ship is not just a replica, but it is also a museum. Part of the purpose of teaching the history is so we as humans do not repeat the horrible parts of it. It pays to view history from a moral relativist lens and not hold modern Spaniards nearly 500 years removed responsible for the atrocities their distant ancestors committed.
@TroyBrownTV
@TroyBrownTV 2 жыл бұрын
@@cnacma the hatians were paying reparations to France for the slavery that their ancestors freed themselves from. And Spain supported that. Spain owes the Caribbean and South American people Reparations. That’s how u prevent a repeat of the past.
@cnacma

@@TroyBrownTV I wasn’t talking about European governments and politicians. Of course european governments owe many decades worth of reparations and help to almost all of the Americas. I was talking about this one Spanish man on the ship that you said was avoiding talking about these things.
