Ahoy, I have been to Old Town Prague, am half Czech, 80 years old, too old to learn Czech, but I loved to hear your talks with captioning so I can remember mom and her siblings, nieces, etc, speaking Czech. I appreciated it to the utmost!

2:05 I think it´s worth mentioning that independence of Czechoslovakia was declared at the Municipal House (Obecní dům) on 28th October 1918. There´s a plaque on the corner of the building that commemorates the event (you can actually see it at 2:30 in the background).

My cousin used to live in Prague, but now she lives in another city, but still in the Czech Republic. She’s been there for over a decade now I think and is fluent in the language.

I've been learning czech since 2006, back in that time, we could barely find a textbook, so I've read the two same texbooks for a decade... At least I know all of the details of it's tricky grammar! I wish we had easy cezch videos since those times! It's fantastic!

Absolutely love Easy Czech, the best amongst the languages featured on 'Easy Languages' - Maybe it's because Prague is breathtakingly beautiful - Any chance you lot could do a video about the favourite Czech movies of the Czechs? And if I may, where do Anicka and Lucka (My phone hasn't the accents, apologies) buy the clothes they wear? They're immaculately dressed in every episode - I hope they have a men's range wherever they buy their attire! Diky, can't wait for the next video!

Yeah! But if you are a Czech learner, it would be really a nightmare. I thought, German was difficult but, when be compared with Czech language. He’s just a little boy 👦 😆 .
@Pidalin
@Pidalin 2 жыл бұрын
@@dinhgiatien6893 Depends on your native language, but say that Czech is more difficult than German is nonsense I think. Czech has maybe more complicated grammer, but you can communicate even without perfect grammar, but you can't communicate when you can't even pronounce words like in German with their super long words full of really weird sounds. :-) Czech words are mostly simple and names of places and streets are simple too.
@dinhgiatien6893
@dinhgiatien6893 2 жыл бұрын
@@Pidalin I agree that if a learner comes from a Slavic nation, would be an advantage to learn Cz. Otherwise, it’s nearly impossible to learn it. The 7 declensions that include not only verbs, but also nouns, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs and other things are very difficult, and actions that fall under each declension often makes no logical sense. Add in masculine animate and inanimate, a feminine that has many different endings and neutrum that sounds similar to feminine, and one feels like running away! Seeing a word like Petra in a sentence, thinking it is about a girl called Petra, and then discovering it is actually about Petr makes you realise how easy it is to misunderstand what you read or hear. And as soon as you know some verbs, the perfect and imperfect tenses are introduced!…
@Pidalin
@Pidalin 2 жыл бұрын
@@dinhgiatien6893 Yes, but as I said, know correct grammar is not so important in Czech like in English, even when you say really simplified "já hledat toaleta" or something, people still understand what you are looking for, in Czech, pronunciation is more important I think, just say few words and we have at least some imagination about what you want to say. In English when you don't know correct grammar, you can't speak at all, in Czech this is actually better and Czech pronunciation is easier for most of speakers beucase it's 100% phonetical language, you just learn alphabet and you can read everything, not like in English or German. And except Ř, there are no any complicated or weird sounds. Some speakers can't pronounce Ň or Ď. but that's not so important, when you read it like N or D, it's still understandable. And when you can read, it's also easier to learn the langauge just from street signs and such things. In English you spend like 10 years olny by learning how to read and pronounce it and then you can start with some grammar. :-)

From Czech idioms, he has the closest to the English "an arm and a leg" probably the phrase "Stojí to nekřesťanské peníze", literally translated "It costs non-Christian money".
