The night before you began I was awake quite late and for some reason thought to myself, “I wonder if Ryan is awake, nervous before the start.” Then I said to myself no way, he’s been racing for decades. I love that you got some nerves, and even more that you got into the head space of just camping and riding. The moment was where the peace was I guess. Yes the day you passed the border got me worried for it seemed you 'you were not getting any kind of speed and thus realised you must be having a very tough day. BUT I felt, 'yes Ryan will go pass this ,'he will get through this'. I saw you stopped at the Butt cabine prior and realised , oh yes, this is Ryan making a handfull of new friends here and probably having a good time. Hey Ryan, I race off-road motorcycles and we use nitrile gloves under our riding gloves as an easy thin fix.

trackleaders is awesome site and really fun to follow. you're the only one I know in the tour, got you on the map with the leaders and the stragglers , always root for the underdogs. I know OF one of the leading ladies, from BC, ultra distance race queen. SHE someone to catch up to and chat with. WOW. A machine. I saw at the second camp, from your recording locale, the SPOT showed you making a diagonal course cut to the trail. The topo image didn't show a real trail per se. TL even has a replay button so you can see animation of the track moves. Very slick. Your movement was very slow back to the trail. Yes, the REAL racers do not take second place to the Famous Tour de France AT ALL. I'd say way tougher, no 10 member team in a van following behind with spare parts and food for you guys. What a high this will be for you at the finish.

Powering through is hard. Especially in the cold and wet. That's the PNW for ya. Glad that you pushed on.
