Regarding having to waste water while waiting for the shower to heat up: one could always hold a little bucket under the shower head, collect the cold water, and use it for other uses later on (washing hands or dishes, put it in the cat’s water bowl, boil it and fill your water bottle, whatever). It’s a lovely little peanut….it suits you! 👍

I love that idea. to that I might add preheating a bucket of water in the kitchen, pouring it over my head upon entering the shower, soaping up, then rinsing as Jessie suggested. T

We love our rig! I feel like a spoiled brat when telling about it though. My husband and I have a 45 ft Tiffin Allegro Bus. We will be going full time next year. We travel with our 2 little dogs and just really wanted a comfortable "home" to live in. Maybe after traveling a couple of years we will feel the need to downsize, but we have grandkids that will want to spend time with us now and then and I won't go anywhere without my sewing machine and quilting supplies.

The depravity of some people just never ceases to amaze me! I think you can also install a gorilla lock on the hitch and absolutely nothing can connect to it. That way, no ball connection no towing away.

Just a idea for taking a navy shower in your tankless water heater. You could put a five gallon bucket on the toilet. Fill the bucket from shower head in your rv and buy one of those camp shower set ups.

Peanut 🥜 is adorable!! Congratulations Robyn. We have a fifth wheel but I wanted a small camper to run around with while the fifth wheel is parked. After months of research I settled on the snoozie2 . I even drove to someone's house to tour one. I had dreams of setting it up as my own little she shed. Than I threw my back out. Now my back is very tender and easy to throw out again. On top of my other physical disabilities, I had that talk with the hubby which brought my balloon 🎈 back down to earth. There is no way I'd have the strength and with the vertigo issues be able to hook up and pull it without his help. So ..... I've switched gears and am now dreaming of a no build van build of which hubby is very excited to help me accomplish 😁.

RVing can be wonderful. We must be fully realistic about our physical condition and abilities as we acquire injuries. For the last three years I’ve had five small to significant injuries that have greatly changed my abilities. I love the fact that you stated “brought your balloon back to earth”, not burst your balloon.❤

10 years airstreaming 2 units....loved them. For cabinets using a magazine organizer box has a nice angle cut that works great on the curves of the cabinet boxes....and you sometimes can find them with labels on outside edge. Have fun in peanut. Also Jackson center factory saves you tons of headaches for getting peanut the way you want it. You can camp onsite and they will have you in and out and on your way. Saved us tons of heartache over the years

@@barbarahawki9712 the Corporate factory for Airstream is in Jackson Center, Ohio. Northern part of state. Beautiful small town vibe. AS trailers have been made there for decades and now the Mercedes AS Van is produced there as well. They are the BEST at getting warranty work done as well as getting off and end things repaired quickly and to factory specs. It's a saves time and money we found in the long run.

Going back to one of your first videos regarding why you went on the road, I added that 'do it now or it won't get done' attitude to my life and after 3 years of saving I'm the proud owner of a new to me vintage rv that fits my style and needs. So thank you for being a part of that process. It was just the kick in the pants I needed. I can't go full time just yet (elderly parental responsibilities) but she's there for weekends, and as my mobile office so YAY! Someday I'll get a newer vehicle but I wasn't ready for the commitment and this seems like a good stepping stone. I'm so happy you found your little peanut. I would have one in a heart beat if I felt the least bit confident about a trailer over a motorhome.

Welcome to the Airstream club! I have the 20fb Caravel and live in it full time here in Texas. It’s perfect for me and my German Shepherd. Some of the 5th Wheel owners comment how small it is, but I think it’s perfect and don’t stress about hooking it up to my Tahoe and traveling. Like you, I am a single female so traveling small and simple with no stress is priority. I have the Weigh Safe weight distribution hitch installed and it has worked really well for me for over two years. The system allows you to see the actual weight on your hitch and its also really easy to level with the low Airstream hitch

Nice rig! You’ve tried out a bunch of kinds and I hope to try a few others myself but for now I’m happy in my little 6x12 cargo trailer. I keep it under 2k and keep it simple. Currently home and removing a lot of stuff I have lugged around for the last 8 months but never used. Live and learn! We don’t need much at all on this journey.

When we began our RV journey, we fell for the "buy the biggest rig you can afford! You'll need the space!" nonsense. After a year of travel, we looked at all the *non-used* space and carped "stupid." I'm not one to pack the whole house in an RV, unlike some. Buying an RV was partly meant to get away from all those chores.

solar for off grid is what's kept me off airstream, really grateful for my 18 ft NuCamp. also, it can be tough to be tiny in the winter but in the summer, being so agile and ability to fit in tiny spaces is queen. also, dropping the travel trailer off with ease and having my 4runner (so superior to any small suv❤) is so so so much nicer than taking my home everywhere. have a great summer!!

When I 1st started looking at being a nomad I was looking at the Airstream 16ft Bambi. I loved the back where you could store your laundry...LOL. I have taken all the things I have loved with all the rigs I have considered and built my own Cargo Trailer Conversion-Jet Girl. She is a 5X10 that I can stand in (barely). I have a galley kitchen in the back, removable wood burning stove, poor man's composting toilet, a bed I get the best night's sleep in, plenty of storage for all my hobbies, 200w solar with a 100Ah LiFePO4 battery, and clearance where I can go anywhere with my 4Runner pulling...and I love it! Best part is if something goes awry mechanically I know how to fix it. You were a huge inspiration to me when I was first thinking of being a nomad...and you still are. Hope to see you on the road sometime 🤗 P.S. I grew up in New Mexico-truly The Land of Enchantment!

I live full-time off-grid in my 1960 Airstream and I love it. Mine is 21' by 7' and I have lots of storage. I took out the middle twin beds, kitchen and made the front couch into my twin bed. I filled the trailer with metal shelves and with the large windows I have lots of light and a lot of space to grow my micro and baby greens. I bought a twin mattress that I put on the floor for my dogs, plus it keeps the floor much warmer in the winter. I have three large dogs and a four pound Maltese, plus I'm dog sitting two of my friends dogs, so the mattress works great. I love your little peanut, it's so cute🥰

For your shower, look into a Water Miser showerhead. It saves water while it's heating. No waste. We have a new E-pro FBS we got right before CA decided to have snow and rain lol. We are going to take it out when the weather is a little better for our first time. We don't think going under a weather challenge for a first run is a great way to start off. We have an all electric fridge too and I plan to run it off battery while it's parked at home to see how long it can last. Run maybe the fan too for a little reality since the heater needs a fan and we want to be sure it won't kill the batteries too quickly.

When I was a small child 2+ my family had a 53' airstream that my mom would pull to wherever my dad's job took us. There were 6 of us at the time. My older sister and brother would have been 11-13 and my brother next to me would have been 3+. My bed was the wheel well most of the time. It wasn't super big considering the amount of people, but we made it work. For a solo traveler your Peanut would be big enough, for me I think I would like about 3 more feet. That would make a huge difference, I'm sure you agree. At least with your Jeep you can store things that you could use outdoors like your rug and chairs, camp stove if you plan on cooking outside, and any number of other things. Congrats on your new "tiny home" Happy travels.

I found you on Utube when I was trapped in ND making 6 figures, I had golden handcuffs and knew I was going to die at my table, that I could never leave that $. Your story was my story in so many ways! So, I slowly stopped buying things, (I was spending all the $ I made trying to medicate my misery), and when Covid hit I sold my small biz and everything else I could, and moved in w my elderly parents. During that yr I re educated w the specific purpose of Mobil employment w the goal of more and more travel less and less time wkg as I age from 60 to 65. So! Over the last 3 yrs I have become a groomer, have a dog of my own for the 1st time in ten yrs because living w my 94 y.o. mom gives me doggy day care while I'm at wk and she loves it, and I just bought a Van! Even tho I now have pmnts, I feel like my adventure has finally begun. I am going on overnighters and getting all the kinks wrkd out in my 'no build' set up, and putting every penny into pay off. absolutely love Peanut! great job organizing your space. My husband and I travel in a Big Foot Truck camper (named Bridget) and absolutely love it. We are just returning from a 5 week adventure and really would love to stay out longer! Totally enjoy your videos!

On your water use in the shower. If you put a valve between the shower valves and the hose you can reduce the water flow which should keep your water heater working without useing as much water.

Reminds me of the Basecamp just a little more spacious and less trail focused.

Good choice! I have a 2015 16 foot whitewater retro with similar floor plan that I pull with my Toyota Highlander. I'm a 73 year old widow and have been doing it by myself since 2017. BTW... I also have a cat that loves the trailer and camping💖 Happy camping Terri from SD Ca.

I love my all fiberglass 17' Casita Spirit Deluxe (with wet bath: toilet and inside shower) 3way refrigerator, 4-person dinette that makes into a full size bed and another separate 2-person dinette that makes into a separate twin bed if you want. Kitchen sink, two burner propane stove, microwave, television, outside shower, and more! Easy to tow, and easy to set up. It withstands weather better than an Airstream. The Casita can be pelted with hail and not receive a scratch. Unlike the Airstream which would look like a golf ball. It is practically waterproof, of course there's always a chance of a leak at the window but the roof will never leak. The body is made of two fiberglass halves that are put together. It practically has zero maintenance unless you buy an abused used one. If you need more room there's also a much more expensive fiberglass trailer made by Oliver and another brand called Escape, and Bigfoot. Scamp also makes a fiberglass trailer but it is lower quality in my personal opinion. But I am 100% sold on fiberglass trailers.

The button on the side of your shower head is for stopping the water, I've had that style before. Congrats on the new Bambi I hope it serves you well on your journey!

Just putting the finishing touches on my self converted Skoolie. Then I'm off! I am living full time in here though. It was the windows of a bus that swayed me this way. Nothing like seeing everything! I've always loved the airstreams. And as I recall, it was an airstream that made you curious about this life. Congratulations and nice choice. Thanks for the video! 😎✌️🐾

Love your channel! After living full-time in a van for four years, I bought a Casita. I use the van as my tow vehicle. For more electricity, I connected my solar setup in the van (500 watts solar & 3 100 amp hour lithium batteries) to the trailer via the van’s inverter. It is working very well. Consider using your tow vehicle for extra solar/power needs in your “peanut.”

Showers! My Lance does the same thing. Frikkin cold water after pausing it. BUT you can do a navy shower. Just put it on pause, keep it off the wall mount (I loop mine over the control knob), lather up, hold the shower nozzle pointing at the floor, and unpause. When the warm returns, you can hang it up again. You’re welcome. 😉

Your video popped up. I've lived full-time in a 2021 16RB since 2021, and I've done a lot of upgrades. I'm a snowboarder and technology lover. More roof solar, key-less entry, 2 x 30 lbs propane, 3 x 100ah heated LiPO, 1200W inverter. I wanted a 19-20', but it was a year wait. Now, I can't think of ever leaving it. It's so efficient, and I can park in tight places. No one minds me staying overnight. Message, if you have any questions.

Do you save the water while waiting for it to get warm? You could use it to flush the toilet. Ain't no shame in the conserve water game. Peanut is soooo cute.!
