I bet the summer temperature in this serene garden is refreshing under the shade. Its lovely now - even without blooms. Always love a stacked stone wall whenever I see one. You did a fabulous job, Jim. It settled nicely and hasn't fallen, leaned, or sunken out of place. Please tell her "Thank You" for sharing her garden with all of us.💚💚

That was just delightful! I love seeing NC mature garden homes like this one. Everywhere you looked there was something interesting and beautiful to see from the garden art to the plants growing in the cracks of the broken up concrete pathway, which I love and wish for myself. The retaining wall is alive with age and looks like it is part of nature. I'm sure it's so rewarding to see your work 30 years later as a living part of her beautiful landscape.

What a brilliant way to soften the look by breaking up the sidewalk! My Strawberry Begonia may have bit the dust, I didn't think anything could kill it! Just a beautiful space Jim Edit: I could lose myself for ever there, please more videos from there.

That's my dream garden! Being from the Caribbean and now living in TX, is so overwhelming to plant anything with the changing seasons. Too much to learn but I'm learning little by little. Right now my yard, front and back, are empty. Just a few pots here and there. You gave me inspiration. Thank you for your videos.

Glad to see the conifers that do well here in NC. I am on the coast zone 8A, and so many conifers are labeled up to zone 7. I crave the blue that conifers could bring to my space.

I love the walkway and how it came about. I am just starting with all my hardscaping and walkways and it gets discouraging of all the articles and "how to" something are always the most expensive and labor intensive. Hers looks just perfect to me!

I just love the stacked wall you made and all of the plants growing in and around it make it just perfect. I wasn’t thinking that conifers could grow in that much shade. It’s hard to tell just how much light she gets since it seemed like a cloudy day. Are there some that tolerate the shade more than others or does she get more sun than it seems?

I love when you do tours-both of your own garden, as well as, neighbors and friends. I've come away with many ideas for my own 7B 1.5 acre yard in Maryland. I hope that you answer my following question. There is a plant seen between 10:03-10:13 (the one with the smaller leaves) which I have in my garden, but I have been unable to identify what it is. I inherited it from the former owner. I tried to identify it through apps, but it says that it is boxwood, which it is not. I'm on the fence whether to keep it or not, Thank you!

Jim, When ya'all lifted the sidewalk & broke it into pieces, did you use heavy machinery? If not, was it difficult? I would love to do that to my 55-year old sidewalk! Thank you for the tour! 😊

I have so far enjoyed all your choices of posts...but, really think you need to tone it down....you have gorgeous properties to showcase...but, unfortunately...you present them in such way that is static...business like..not....so lovely.....most of us female gardeners...would apppreciate a softer voice and experiene......you have such great opportnities to visit these amazing homes.... just calm down your voice...not so much business...but beauty....just my opinion.
