Thanks for sharing your drive thru NA, Berbice. I attended Berbice High School 61 to 68. Located just pass the NA hospital.....NA has grown economically since those old times....Main St and Strand were the economic route more or less where the buses used to drive. Turning at Alexander St. You also drove along the Back Dam Road where the street signs are visible...BEI another high school and a multilateral school Vryman's Irving were located along that Back Dam Road.....nice to see NA is still familiar....the mosque, Nazarine church, Lin Kam restaurant, Sue Brothers etc...still there.

Hi Naresh. I am pleased that you driven past my birth village of Palmyra. Lots of development taking place where the cane fields used to be. Then you took us into my old town of NA I was hoping that you would have driven along the strand past the market. Maybe to be continued?

Thanks for the tour. We lived in New Amsterdam back in the eighties and nineties for about 10 years. Loved the people there though times were hard economically for many. It looks like many improvements have come nowadays. God bless friends of Berbice!

I visited New Amsterdam as a child in 1994. Its nice to see paved roads and large buildings there. Would have never imagined such development.

Concrete is cheaper than wood so many people are building concrete houses now. Sometimes concrete bottom flat and upper flat wood, or altogether a complete concrete house. Even so the roofing frame will be wood. there is always wood used somewhere .

@@RealNiceGuyana I see. I thought real concrete was more expensive than wood. These days in India, they use artificial cement/concrete bricks to build walls. Wooden roof is the best idea. It keeps the house well insulated and also drains the rainwater

Ok I see, they have artificial everything now, lol. Yes all houses here the roofing is framed from wood and the covered with zinc sheets. They are now building western style homes with drywall and shingles instead of the zinc sheets looks just like the houses overseas.

What do you mean ? It was British Guiana... now since that unfortunate move to independence it's now Guyana 🇬🇾...for those who might not know anything about this country.
