The American Battlefield Trust preserves America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educates the public about what happened there and why it matters. We permanently protect these battlefields for future generations as a lasting and tangible memorial to the brave soldiers who fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.

You guys never cease to amaze me, Parker is a wealth of information. Shiloh is a awesome battle field , I had the good fortune of visiting it ( in the middle of the pandemic) however I was there April 12th. A huge storm blew in the night we got there....much like Grant's description of the battlefield the evening of the first day of battle. I encourage everyone who can make the trip, the ground is unspoiled and much as it was when this carnage occurred.

I was in the scene where Gen Johnston walked down our line striking our bayonets with his cup in the Park Service movie. It was chilling listening to Stacy talk lowly saying "We must the bayonet!" Especially when his horse spooked while we were all in a confined space....
