It's largely overlooked by 20th century historians because it didn't involve Grant or Lee. Thankfully scholarship in recent years has been much better.

I'm grateful to those scholars who have brought out the significance of the Battle of Stones River. Also guys like my friend NPS Ranger, Jim Lewis, who has dedicated so much of his career to understanding its importance and the proper interpretation of the history there.

Unfortunately largely overlooked by 20th century historians because it didn't involve Grant or Lee. Civil War scholarship in this century has been more well rounded. William Rosecrans, George Thomas and Nathan Bedford Forrest should receive more recognition.

I hope you can detail the Tullahoma Campaign. Usually overlooked sandwiched between Gettysburg and Vicksburg. Most brilliant tactical moves by the Union during the war. Rosecrans is underappreciated.

Why not do a book review on “Attack and Die”? This is a great example of it. I brought the book up with a Park Ranger and he said it was one of the most controversial books of the War Between the States (and Commonwealths). Thanks

Looks a bit like the Pickett's charge ground at Gettysburg. A bit shorter ground to cover maybe.
