We will see. TFC truck has been driving it around and it's mixed reviews. I like watching them because they're not fanboys. Back seat room is terrible. Plastics inside are not that great. Suspension seems good. Power was disappointing (non iforce version).

@@seapanther53 lol, Tacoma kept the rugged look while Tundra got a softer look. It looks too fragile on the exterior as well as the interior and from the reviews I’ve seen, looks like the build quality is on par with my previous statement

The most impressive release by Toyota this year l love this Hybrid truck. I have heard 28 MPG combined as a fuel economy figure bandied around for the i-FORCE Max I would buy one in an instant if it came to Australia. 😎👍

The new 2024 models are an amazing step forward for the Taco. You would think that Toyota could engineer gas shocks / springs for holding the hood open ! A $50,000 truck should not have a hood that is held open with a stick. Maybe this option assumes everyone is 6' 6" tall and has a reach of 8' ??????????

I'll take the Limited only if I can opt out of the Chrome, especially the wheels. I don't like Chrome at all for whatever reason, I guess I don't find it to be a sign of luxury. Also, I would get rid of the air damn at the dealer. If I have to sacrifice MPG, so be it!

I COULD consider this mid-size from my F150--IF I can even remove the rear seat and make a simple luggage tray surface we can load our weekend gear duffle bags, coolers, misc items we stack into that space as transport storage. I see the hybrid motor will have to stay (I want a hybrid) but maybe I can remove the seat entirely construct a simple shelf over the hybrid motor, etc. Anybody know what the rear seat at least looks like folded up? Thanks for any insight.

I don't see why you couldn't remove the rear seat. A lot of people do that with previous gen Tacoma's for overlanding.

For a top trim truck, I'm surprised to see so many blank plugs in the center stack and on the side of the steering wheel. Toyota could have done much better than that. Second row leg room should have been improved as well.

The xtracab doesn't have half doors that open. Also, TRD sport and off-road are double cab only.

They better make these via three shifts 24/7….. because these will sell like hotcakes. I want a Limited yesterday. I love my newer Ridgeline but this is a 300% improvement over the outgoing Taco. My only disappointment would be the single ugly exhaust versus dual exhaust like my Ridgey.

@@nlmaster9811 you need to read more then. Some people like it for the comfortable ride. Some for the large wide interior space as the 23 Taco and older has a cramped interior. Some people like it for the utility of the dual action tailgate and trunk. I haul plywood and drywall for a side hustle and can fill the bed with the 1580 payload and sheets lay perfectly flat!

When you have to add turbo, just to have enough power for your engine your sunk from the start! Turbo is essentially more heat, more friction, and we all know what heat and friction does to engines and parts. All the reviews talk about everything else but the most important aspects of a vehicle. Its engine. Wow, look at the shiny wheels and curved hood. 3 power trains?? Everything says this is a bomb year for the Tacoma. And price???

I bought my TRD OR 4x4 access cab in 2018 last Taco made in San Antonio. The 4 doors were made in Mehico that year. So far besides the front brake rotors turned twice before 40,000 miles no other issues...Guess i got lucky....

I'm excited for this but i wish it was a plug in hybrid with a much bigger battery. would be great to be able to do short quick travels on 100% battery and only need to use the gas engine for max power and long road trips. Also I see a power power button, that is really not needed for hybrid/electric vehicles. I should be able to get in and go and get out with no need to turn the vehicle on and off. speaking of buttons there are just so many, coming from a teals with none. I feel there can be a happy medium where we can have a minimum amount of physical buttons while putting some controls on the screen. I do hope the screen software is snappy and not laggy like other toyotas.

A hybrid motor setup makes so much sense in a truck, due to the horsepower but also torque needed at different stages of the powerband. Hopefully when minivans start to appear, they’ll come with a similar type of engine.
