The Khunjerab Pass is the highest mountainous international border between China and Pakistan. This pass is often covered with snow in the winters. It is one of the highest paved pass in the world which is about 16000 feet above sea level. On the Pakistani side the pass is located at 870 km from Islamabad the capital of Pakistan and about 1250 km from Lahore the capital of Punjab. It is pertinent to say that left hand N-35 (Pakistan) meets right hand G-314 (China) at this pass. This pass was opened in 1986.

Stayed 3 nights at the border station Sost. January 1992. Border was closed. Wonderful place. Good Pakistani hospitality. Greeting from Australia.
