Paneer is a cheese (similar to cottage cheese). Pannier, (pronounced "Pan-ee-uh") is a container, usually a basket, bag, box or similar, used to carry items on an animal, bicycle or motorcycle.

Clutch derailleur help when the trail gets rough by keeping tension on the chain so it doesn't flop off the front chainring. Don't help especially with pedalling backwarda.

I loved the way the AWOL looked and bought one in 2015. Sad to say I was disappointed. I put about 1000 miles on it in the 16 months or so that I had it between touring and commuting. I often rode the bike loaded. I did like the geometry. The bars were really nice and I would put them on another bike if I could. But the bike was just so heavy. I also hated the disc brakes. The rotors were always rubbing and no amount of adjustment to the caliper or straightening of the disc would stop it. My pads also got contaminated and that was kind of it for me. I ended up selling it on eBay in December. I replaced it with an old school (1984) Trek 620. The frame is made from Reynolds 531 and its got simple cantilever brakes. I'm converting it to Shimano 105 10 speed. The final build should be lighter than the AWOL. I hope you enjoy your monster truck more than I did.

Its definitely not a light bike. I only use it for touring of the occasional grocery run cause its so heavy. but i do like it bulletproof.

@@SocialCyclist I don't really find the bike to be that heavy. It is lighter than my Surly Trucker though and the weight of that never bothers me either. Do you like the Awol more than you liked your Trucker? Both such great bikes in my opinion.

This is almost identical to my own touring bike set up - although I am thinking about swapping out the rear mech for a clutch model. I run ortlieb panniers as they are basically indestructable and my handlebars are Koga Atalanta. I assembled mine myself rather than modify an existing build - bought the parts i wanted etc.. hope you have loads of fun on it!

Why the front light is covered by the pannier rack. Even the tail light is not at the right position for riding with luggage. Why not using the mounting holes at the rear of the pannier rack?

The Big Sur lie can take 70 lb I just bought a cheap rack off of Amazon for $15 came with a toolkit patch kit and a cup holder and I sent my whole weight on it it'll hold 180 lb 15 bucks you paid what 300 or $200 that thing you got ripped off and mine weighs 1 lb 6 oz

FYI - your front dynamo hub is a Special Precision PD-8 - not a Shimano. The SP dynamos are generally agreed to be better than Shimano ones.

First, if you're going to watch this video, it doesn't really start until 2:00 in. The taillight looks like it's lower than the top of the tire and definitely would be blocked by anything placed on top of the rack. Back of the rack might be a better location for it if you want anyone to actually see it. Having a black band across the light caused by mounting the headlight behind the cross bar on the front rack seems like a poor mount location choice as well.

Those panniers look like they won't last 10 minutes. Buy Ortlieb or Vaude panniers. Much better.
Terrible video! Many shots out of focus, them the indoor shooting was too dark, them too bright... I can see that you are trying to copy the style of big vloggers out there, but man, if don't have a clue about what you are doing, them keep it simple.
