2:38 Glad you like the purple rice, Steve. We have it too in Sarawak. 😀 It's probably a Bornean variety found on the island... What you're having is a local rice... harvested, milled, cooked and served. Fresh rice. 13:41 That's a praying mantis... maybe a juvenile. Or a tiny variety. The beetle at the end of the video feeds off wood. It's a very magnificent beetle I always love to watch if I happens to come across one while in my kampung.

To clarify, in Malaysia, we only had 3 Wilayah which is Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan & Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya. When it comes to Sabah & Sarawak. It is a state (Negeri). Not Wilayah. Salam from Sabah (Negeri Di Bawah Bayu) 🥰

Another beautiful video. It was a pleasure to watch. By the way I was doing a fish spa and we had 50 small garra ruffa fish (the size of a finger on my hand) in the aquarium. You sit on the two-seater above and put your feet on, and then they suck on a dead skin and take it all off. But these your fishes are so big . Well done to Ivana for overcoming her fear of heights. And the beetle is so scary, i would run out of the room :) Kisses from Serbia.

Actually the Canadian did fought against the Japanese during the battle of Hong Kong, began in December 1941, just two days after the attack on the Pearl harbour. The major Canadian units involved in the defence of Hong Kong were the Winnipeg Grenadiers battalion and the Royal Rifles battalion of Canada. They were the first Canadian soldiers to see action in World War II.

Thank you for showing respect to the British and Australians honoured there. I've seen some awful tacky disrespectful videos of the Memorial. Thank you for your appropriate behaviour. By the way the 6 who survived had escaped from the camp and were harboured at great risk by locals. And this story is unknown in Australia, how appalling is that. I've just read the true story Death March of Sandakan and will be there in 3 weeks.

3:53 Actually British Malaya is referring to the Peninsular Malaysia(West Malaysia). Sabah was known as the North Borneo(later changed to Sabah when they formed Malaysia with Malaya & Sarawak in 16th September 1963). And Sarawak at that time was the Kingdom of Sarawak(1841-1941) which was ruled by the Brooke Dynasty. We only became a British colony in 1946, until 1963. Both states were British protectorates. 13:33 That's a baby Praying Mantis.

It still baffles me how the imperial soldiers back then could be so "creative" when it comes to their punishment. Inhumane, as you said. Even in death (or near death) they won't allow you your dignity. Tales of their cruelty still sounds like hyperbole due to how outlandish they are, except it is well and consistently documented everywhere not just in Malaya and Borneo, but also other places, with Nanking taking the most unfortunate cake. You'd think they were only that way with the Allies given their propaganda slogan is "Asia for Asia" but even the civilian Malays (their target recruit for that campaign) been telling stories like being force-fed water by pipe, and have a plywood laid on top of you, only for the Japanese to stomp on you when you became visibly bloated. Such a contrast to current overly polite Japanese society we have of today, which makes it all the more baffling.
