just groundbreaking content Brandon and Eric!! This is the foundation of Eric's teaching as I experienced it last summer that allowed me to vault to a 1.3 hcp from 15 hcp in less than 14 months. Keep it up maestros! Ani

It's funny that I saw this video today because I have been using my wrist angles hitting balls just to see what difference it would make after seeing a video of Padraig Harrington on this subject and with my irons I noticed much better ball striking especially with short and mid irons,driver not so much yet but still working on it. Good stuff guys.

good video and info. i've been using the clothes hanger training aid which really helps with the wrist conditions and i have to make sure the two bones in my left arm turn over and it seems to keep the left wrist flat and not go into extension.

Eric says hitting quality shots by doing the freezers is owning your swing and hard which Tiger has said the same thing. My question is I feel I hit my best shots doing a freeze at the top or 3/4 swing. Why is that and what am I doing wrong not to be able to hit a ok shot at normal tempo. My guess is I’m too quick with the hands and arms.

Eric, I am a retired PGA pro in UK. You have a fine, easy, natural swing, ideal for a long career on the Championship Tour. To achieve the changes you want, you will have to fire your hips and shoulders much faster in an effort to delay release and get more "shaft lean". I believe "shaft lean" is a myth, no-one can "hold" that position, no smooth swinger achieved much SL. You will have to lose your arm release and speed your hips and shoulders into disc herniation like Zalatoris or me, 40 years ago. Your young student does it with a violent attack on the ball but he won't be doing that in his 50s. Please stick to your great swing, practice what you have. Good Luck.

When you grip the club, the clubface is supposed to be "shut", but you then get the hands in front, which squares it up. This is just how the club is designed. If you have the clubface "square" without shaft lean at setup, it's a weak position. You must have shaft lean at setup, and then slightly increase it as you go through the ball.

Yet Jon Sinclair said don't try to hold off the release, you can't even if you want to. Most top players are going into left wrist extension (cupping) just Before impact.

John Erickson must love 4° upright minus 2° flat = 6° change 🎉
@jaydubeck3435
@jaydubeck3435 Жыл бұрын
Except Erickson wants 6* flat from 0 Eric is 2* flat from 0. Big difference! 4* upright is left all day if it doesn't match your swing thus Eric had an issue he was fitted incorrectly and had to adjust his motion to that fitting.

If I understand this correctly his left wrist is cupped at impact. DJ, Hogan,Rahm,Trevino come to mind with bowed left wrist. I understand that you want to be releasing before impact but would have thought a player of his caliber would be flat or bowed at this point. Any explanations for this would be appreciated.

Have a look at the effect rapid ulnar deviation has on wrist flexion. Hint: it is the cause of a flat wrist at impact.

If your swinging through correct the wrists sort themselves , if you get the wrists right - you get the wrists right , little else.

Isn't it better to keep adding flexion on the downswing so, as you take that out going into impact, you wrist will be flat at impact. He seems to get to flat, "flat line" like that and then take it out.
@davidmcnamara3243
@davidmcnamara3243 Жыл бұрын
Flat left wrist is a misconcept and the only thing, that Hommer got wrong. It implies a weak grip, with the grip in the palm, which leads to excess forearm rotation and a flip. Strong grips, with a little more bodily rotational release work. The weak grip /flat left impact, was copied from the Hogan swing, but he used very flat clubs and swung on a very flat plane. Look at the geometrical figures!

Biggest factor is weight not transferring to the lead side, it is the stalling of the body,,, the arms reacting as you describe is affect of body stalling at impact......FACT............
