The word is "hesed" in Hebrew, not "hasid." חסד in the Hebrew. Hasid is from the same root but is the adjective meaning kind or pious while hesed is the noun, kindness. If you burned every bible and science text book on the world, in a year we could have the science books back with the same facts we have now, because we can prove those facts to be true. Gravity is constant, we need oxygen to breath the sun rises every day and the tides come in. If you tried to re-write any religious text in those circumstances, it wouldn’t come back the same. You would have the individuals interpretation of the book. That’s the difference between fact and faith. Life isn’t less meaningful as an atheist and I appreciate some have a need for religion.
