Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to `Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn `Abbas who said, "If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade it, saying, 'Do not punish anybody with Allah's punishment (fire).' I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'" (Bukhari 9.84.57).

It is sad that people turn away from faith because of the bad conduct of others. But let's think about it, people are not perfect- we know this. We don't expect perfect 100% grades in high school for all students (some can, some can't) in all subjects so why do we expect 100% obedience to God from all people in their respective religions in the very thing God tests us in- our belief, sometimes to a dire point, for which some people are harmed, tortured, killed. Sometimes so shaken they ask when is the help of God. If faith and love and submission is what is tested how come we expect perfection from all people, some can do it- but some can't. We have temptations, misunderstandings, fears, ego, anger. If someone lies he is disbelieving and if someone helps a person for the sake of good and God's pleasure then he is believing. So sometimes a believer can go through phases where belief is stronger or weaker. Now our sins and wrongdoings can either be repented from and we overcome that bad habit or way of living or it can increase making the heart and mind sicker sometimes unto the point of no return. This is a more true way to consider bad observed conduct from others. Not throw away that God sent revelation just because people are not following it, instead the ugliness and harm from not following it also proves it is true

Subjective Individualism/Morality (satan always whispers Hedonism into your ear) is the biggest danger to what destroys individuals, societies and land; whether visibly or discreetly. We only see a pixel or two, the Creator has the full picture. Allah Hu Akbar, all praise to the Most Merciful who created us, sustains us, knows us, protects us, guides us, and sent us Prophets from the beginning to the end (Peace be upon them), and ESPECIALLY for not leaving us to people like this who knowingly or unknowingly mislead; with bad intentions or good.

In my life I made the journey from growing up completely irreligious and without faith (agnostic), to an atheist, then started looking into New Age stuff followed by looking into Orthodox Christianity. As much as I have come to respect Orthodox Christianity for its emphasis on values such as humility and the importance of love and compassion, I am struggling with the Christian idea that God became man through Jesus Christ and the trinitarianism associated with it. I tried, but I do not find these ideas compelling or cohrerent. I am at a point where I want to honestly and earnestly look into Islam. I also have a Turkish migrational backgrounds, and my grandparents from my mothers side were devout Muslims, but sadly, they are not here anymore. Can you recommend good ways to get started? I am a COMPLETE beginner and feel like an outsider. I have never read the Quran, don't know anything about Islam really. I have a wide array of interests, whether it is philosophy, theology, mythology, spirituality or science. I don't like to believe in things that are not reasonably sound, that I just have to accept dogmatically. I wanna get to know Islamic philosophy & theology. How and where do I best get started as a complete beginner?

The main belief of this Non Muslim man is that if I do good ,I will get good But in this world; without realizing how can someone punish a serial killer or a mafia boss who have committed all types of sins and enough sins that one life would not be enough to repay these sins. So, there must be a better system , there must be a greater solution that can punish and reward a person according to his doings. This system is the Hell and Heaven system that will uncover itself on the day of judgement. Question that I would ask him is, how would you punish Hitler in this mortal for his sins and killings? If it has the original Arabic, I advise you to make an ablution, the cleaning procedure Muslims do before prayer or touching the Arabic Quran. The cleaning only takes 1 or 2 minutes. It's quite simple, you can search up how to do the "wudhu" online. If there is no Arabic, there isn't a need to do that.

It's easier go with the flow of the conversation with little interruption. Subtitles can be too distracting sometimes. Plus, not all of us read at the same pace, you need to realise that. This reminds me of short videos, where information is processed short term, but it makes you develop this bad habit and you wouldn't be able to think at a normal pace. You are *quick* to forget things in the long run.

not his fault. islam is just out of comfort zone of these people. they just can't accept Islam . its a difficult routine to follow... no alcohol, no random sex, no abusive words, 2% donation of your savings... and list goes on.. islam is not for week people

Is Elah and Allah same? Cognates of the name "Allāh" exist in other Semitic languages, including Hebrew and Aramaic. The corresponding Aramaic form is Elah (אלה), but its emphatic state is Elaha (אלהא). Elahi (אֱלָהִי‎; إلهي) is an Aramaic and Arabic meaning "My God". Elah means "god", with the suffix -i meaning "my." Being Aramaic and not Hebrew (there is no singular possessive for "god" in Biblical Hebrew), in the Old Testament, Elahi is found only in the books of Ezra and Daniel. God is in the terebinth tree - literally. The Hebrew name of the tree, elah, is derived from the word El - God. Elah, the feminine form of that word, means goddess.

He expect respect, while in this whole conversation he was arrogant, crass and impolite. Respect is earned, and he hasn't earned mine. Addendum; Whenever someone inflate something good about themselves[i.e. "I'm kind and compassionate], without flaw and mistakes it's usually the opposite, and a sign of narcissistic personality disorder. As reminder, so it provides benefit.

I don't understand one thing. Why is it always "debate" or "vs". I come from Singapore. A country with open freedom to choose your religion. I have Muslims and Christian friends, I'm a omnitheist myself. Why can't just the world live in peace with each other? Why go out to prove that your belief is true. In a sense, faith is to kept in the heart. There's no point to convince another. I have been to church, mosque, chinese buddhist and taoism temple. All I feel is peace. Religion to me is meant to be good. Atheist can also do good, charity etc without having a religion. And shouldn't that be the core value as a human itself? As someone who is already spiritually awakened, I do come in contact with spiritual beings. And they don't come in contact by choosing religions. I just don't understand why? Can't just everyone live in peace regardless of religion or race?

Hello, What you said made me think of a simple analogy like when someone knows an information and he keeps it to himself only and never disclose of it to share its benefits with the world. If this was the right thing to do there would be no scientists, no teachers etc. You can imagine a scientist that shares his discovery and wins a Nobel prize. Similar to the nobel prize, a muslim who helped another person enter Islam is rewarded generously for his deed. Try to think of a doctor who knows how to cure a patient but prefers to keep the cure to himself and maybe just only heal himself because he thinks he does not need to prove to others that he is capable of helping. In fact, helping or sharing information/belief is not a search of validation. Sometimes it surges out of love. I just remembered the prophet Mohamed who tried to help one of his relatives in deathbed enter Islam. He was not proving himself, but he wished for his loved one to enter Paradise. I also remember a saying that claims hate is no contrary of love, indifference is. Have a lovely day !

Westernize way of reasoning that is very much rooted in atheism. Rampant arrogance to recognize the Beauty and Grandeur of God who is the source of morality and is the Ultimate form of Good.
