Salah has fixed times in which a Muslim should observe. You can miss salah in situations like forgetting it or oversleeping. In those cases you should pray the moment you wake up or when you remember incase of forgetfulness. You should not make a habit of missing salah. I don't think you can make up salah that was missed intentionally. Pls anyone watching this don't just follow blindly confirm with scholars of islam you might know or can contact. Allah knows best

@@AJ-il1lm8ph7zImam Nawawi stated: “There is consensus (ijma`) of the scholars whose opinion counts that whoever leaves a prayer intentionally must make it up. Abu Muhammad Ali Ibn Hazm differed with them on this, saying that such an individual cannot ever make them up and it is not at all valid to make them up. Rather, he said, one must do much good works and voluntary prayer in order that one s scales be heavied on the day of judgement and one must seek Allah s forgiveness and repent. This position of his, along with being in opposition to scholarly consensus (ijma`), is invalid in terms of the proof. Among the proofs for the obligation to makeup is: that if makeup prayers are obligatory for the one who left the prayer forgetfully, then doing so for the one who left the prayer deliberately is more obviously incumbent.” [Majmu` Sharh al-Muhadhdhab (3.86)]

Some people think that if you were asleep during a prayer or forgot it from its time, that you have to pray it on the second day at the time of prayer, this is wrong. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, in the meaning of what he said: (Whoever sleeps and misses the prayer or forgets it, let him pray it when he remembers it, there is no expiation for it except that) You must pray it immediately after you get up from sleep or after you remember it, and everyone should seek what helps them to get up for prayer such as sleeping early and putting alarm clock.

If a person misses the prayer , one of two scenarios must apply: He missed it for a reason, such as falling asleep or forgetting it. There is no sin on him in this case, but he has to make it up when he wakes up or remembers it. Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever forgets a prayer, let him offer it as soon as he remembers, for there is no expiation for it other than that.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari (572) and Muslim (684) Muslim narrated an additional phrase: “or sleeps and misses it”. Muslim also narrated (684): “If one of you sleeps and misses a prayer, or forgets it, let him offer the prayer when he remembers, for Allah says ‘and perform As-Salah (Iqamat-as-Salah) for My remembrance’ [Ta-Ha 20:14].” He missed the prayer with no excuse ; rather he ignored it until the time for it ended, out of laziness and carelessness. This person is sinning according to the consensus of the Muslims, and has committed a major sin. It is not valid for him to make it up according to the more correct of the two scholarly opinions, rather he has to repent and regret it, and resolve not to do that again, and he should do a lot of good deeds and offer a lot of voluntary prayers. Ibn Hazm said: “As for the one who deliberately omits to pray until the time for the prayer ends, he can never make it up, so he should do a lot of good deeds and offer a lot of voluntary prayers, so that his balance (of good deeds) will weigh heavily on the Day of Resurrection, and he should repent and ask Allah for forgiveness.” (Al-Muhalla, 2/235) This is also the view of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab and his son ‘Abd-Allah, and of Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas, Salman, Ibn Mas’ud, al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr, Badil al-‘Aqili, Muhammad ibn Sirin, Mutarrif ibn ‘Abd-Allah and ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz. It was also the view of Dawud al-Zahiri and Ibn Hazm, and was the view favoured by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah and al-Shawkani. Among contemporary scholars it was regarded as more correct by al-Albani, Ibn Baz, Ibn ‘Uthaymin and others. They quoted as evidence the following: The words of Allah (interpretation of the meaning): “Verily, As-Salah (the prayer) is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours.” [al-Nisa 4:103] They said: There is a set time for prayer and it is not permissible to do it at any other time except with evidence. The words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “Whoever forgets a prayer , let him offer it as soon as he remembers, for there is no expiation for it other than that.” The words “let him offer it as soon as he remembers, for there is no expiation for it other than that” mean: If he is slow in offering the prayer after he remembers it, then it is not an expiation, so how about the one who neglects it deliberately without forgetting or sleeping? It is even more likely that it will not be an expiation in that case, and making it up will be of no benefit. Because Allah has allocated a specific time for each obligatory prayer, specifying the beginning and end thereof, so it is as if it is not valid to do it before that time just as it is not valid to do it afterwards. (Al-Muhalla, 2/235) Ibn Hazm said: “Also, making it up should be based on evidence, and it is not permissible for anything to be prescribed other than by Allah on the lips of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). We ask those who say that the one who deliberately omits the prayer is obliged to make it up to tell us about this prayer that you are telling him to do - is it the prayer that was enjoined by Allah or some other prayer? If they say it is the one that was enjoined by Allah, then we say to them: Then the one who deliberately omits it is not a sinner, because he has done what Allah commanded him to do and there is no sin according to what you say, and there is no blame on the one who deliberately omits to pray until the time for it ends. But that is something that no Muslim can say. If they say that it is not the prayer that Allah has enjoined him to do, then we say: You are right, and that is enough, because they have admitted that they told him to do something that was not enjoined by Allah.” (Al-Muhalla, 2/236) Those who say that he has to make it up did so by analogy with the one who forgets or falls asleep, and they said that if the one who forgets has to make it up, then it is more likely that the one who deliberately omitted it should do so. The response is that there is no comparison between the two scenarios, because the one who omits it deliberately is sinning, which is not true in the case of the one who forgets, so how can an analogy be drawn between the one who is sinning and the one who is not sinning? Al-Shawkani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Ibn Taymiyah said: Those who disagree - i.e., those who say that he should make up the prayer - do not have any proof to support their argument. Most of them say that he does not have to make it up unless there is a clear command (based on evidence), but there is no such command in this case. We do not disagree that it is obligatory to make it up; rather we disagree as to whether the made-up prayer will be accepted from him and whether prayer offered at the wrong time is valid. He discussed this matter at length and he favoured the view that was mentioned by Dawud and those who agreed with him, and the matter is as he put it, because I made a thorough study of this matter and I did not see any reliable evidence that obliges the one who misses a prayer deliberately to make it up.” (Nayl al-Awtar, 2/26) The more correct view - and Allah knows best - is that the one who deliberately omits the prayer should not make it up, rather he has to seek forgiveness and repent. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) discussed this issue at length and examined the evidence of both sides in his useful book al-Salah (p. 67-109). Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said: “The scholars who say that he should make up the prayer do not say that by making it up he is absolved of sin, rather they say that by making it up his burden of sin is reduced, but the sin of missing and delaying the prayer beyond its prescribed time is like any other sin, it needs either repentance or good deeds that will erase it or other things that will waive the punishment.” (Minhaj al-Sunnah, 5/233)

Brothers I don't know only Allah knows but I'll share something for you all. I am Urdu speaking and I can tell you I have moved out of listening to these local mufti as there is no check and balance. All I know when I used to believe on qaza Salah I use to delay my namaz and had this though that I'll cover them with qaza e umri. After my sister told me there wasn't such a thing cuz she follows aalim in saudia Madina and middle east I searched and couldn't find a single Arab who said qaza e umri was a thing. They said there was no such thing. Honestly it helped me pray daily regularly and I'm more careful. This itself is a relief for my alhumdulilah. May Allah forgive our short coming. The only way is that we do more sunnat and nawafil and pray and hope Allah will cover our short comings.

If you're someone who didn't pray for years, and are now doing so, repent sincerely and try and pray every "missed" prayer whenever you can. It will take years obviously, but just pray the missed obligatory prayer (fardh) right before the prayer you're meant to pray. Or whenever it is convenient. For example, pray Zuhr (think "the last one that I missed") and follow with the Zuhr you're supposed to pray. Sincere repentance and your intention and attempt to pray what you have missed (because it is in a way a debt) matters a lot. Even if this takes years, persevere. Allah sees everything and He knows that the effort you make means your tawbah was sincere. When you have time, pray voluntary prayers too because they will weigh heavy on the scale. And I know that certain scholars think that you don't have to make up these prayers as long as you repent, but many say that you should make them up. It may sound terrifying to you, that what if you can never make them up? You may need to make up thousands of prayers. But do it. Even if you die without completing all of them, Allah will forgive you because you showed patience, didn't lose hope of His mercy, and strived in His cause. And He loves such people. Don't forget that prayer is the first thing we will be asked about, beginning with the grave.

@@grizzlymac-tight what if one misses 20 years of off and on prayers.
@brightginger2386
@brightginger2386 Жыл бұрын
@@grizzlymac-tight That is not what I'm talking about. There are a lot of people who didn't pray before, say, during their teen years and then as they grew older they realized that they had sinned and began praying regularly after making tawbah. What I said is that such a person should pray normally, but also perform the prayers they did not pray when they should have. Some scholars say that simply tawbah is enough, but several jurists and scholars say that one should perform the obligatory prayers one has not done and as soon as possible (for example, Imam Al-Ghazali). For some people, they may have to spend the rest of their lives doing so, because it is not easy to perform thousands of prayers. This is their test. In no way do I condone people missing prayers and making them up when they want. Making tawbah is necessary, and believing in Allah's mercy is necessary, but He loves those who are patient and persevere (cf. Qur'an 3:200; 11:115; 40:55; 41:35). At the least, shouldn't we show Him, who guided us toward goodness, our sincerity by praying what we have deliberately left? And Allah knows best.
@brightginger2386
@brightginger2386 Жыл бұрын
@@grizzlymac-tight Yes, they "are supposed to repent to Allah and have the sincere intention to never miss a prayer again." BUT the majority of the fuqaha (including Hanafi, Shaf'i, and Maliki scholars) agree that "left out" obligatory prayer has to be performed, even after making tawbah, whenever a person finds time. Indeed, it would be better for them to pray skipped obligatory prayers than voluntary prayers if they lead very busy lives. The reason is that missed obligatory prayer is to be treated like a debt between us and Allah. Missing a prayer is not permissible, not in sickness, not in travelling, not even in war. The Qur'an explicitly gave the details to pray Salatul Khauf for those who went to fight in Allah's cause (wherein a rank of fighters fight while another rank prays; this is a poor summary). This means that prayers simply cannot be missed. I'm sure you're aware that missed (I mean that which was deliberately not done or given) fasts and zakah, both, have to be fulfilled; you have to fast every fast skipped, and pay any zakah skipped previously. So how can prayer, which cannot be missed in any condition, which marks the presence of imaan itself, be left like that? Allah commands us to fulfil every obligation (Qur'an 5:1). The important thing is that a person who starts to perform such prayers, well-aware that they may never even complete all of them, has the intention to pray every missed fardh salah. If he dies before completing them, Allah, who is All-Forgiving and Most Merciful, will have mercy on him because of his effort, patience, sincerity, and niyyah. My answer is not my opinion, but what a scholar of Islamic jurisprudence told me. You may still disagree; I only wish to clarify the matter with my limited knowledge.
@brightginger2386
@brightginger2386 Жыл бұрын
@@grizzlymac-tight I think I mentioned in my original comment that when a person is performing an obligatory prayer that he skipped, he intends "the prayer he missed last" (or as his situation demands). I don't understand why you're bringing bid'ah here. Bid'ah is an innovation in religion that goes against the Shariah, that is, the Sunnah and the decrees of Allah. How is performing missed prayers bid'ah? And the issue here is very intricate, but I have only discussed how the majority of scholars see it.

the 5 daily prayers should be prayed on time. in case a person missed his prayer could be he forgot which happens and then because he overslept and missed salah. in that case the person must hurry to pray as soon as he remember or gain consciousness. now there is a difference between neglecting it because u r outside ur house and not wearing proper clothes on specially women, first of allah a woman must think about one thing: while i am out of the house, can i pray with the clothes that i have on?if not then u have to revise ur way of dressing. vbecause if u r outside of the house and its time for prayer u should be ready(your clothes) and then perform wudu. as for someone who says im going to perform zuhr asr maghrib and esha prayer one after the other before going to sleep then thats not how it should be done because allah has put a certain time to pray each prayer for a reasona nd wisdom.

If you have many years of missed Fajr prayers you can make them up. You just offer 2 rakahs of Qada Umri which is equivalent to making up 1 missed Fajr prayer from the past. You can do as many rakahs as you can to make up the prayers. An easy way to make up 1 years worth of missed Fajr prayers, is to offer several (or more) Qada Umri every morning just before praying Fajr.

They believe it is kufr to not pray so just like a christian doesn't need to make up for the years he didn't pray salah as a non-muslim neither does the Muslim who didn't pray (that they view as non-muslim) need to. Disclaimer: Nobody should take mine or any non-scholars youtube comment as a verdict for their specific case and should instead take their case to a qualified scholar and explain it in detail. Also, don't take youtube comments from random Muslims that speak of islam as a fact. Always look up if something is true from verified scholars as many Muslims speak about Islamic matters without having the correct knowledge.

You cannot make up missed prayers at all if they were missed on purpose neither when it's time for the next pray that day or any other day or a year to years later Allahu Allem

For those people who might be deterring people from making up the missed prayers. Kindly, please don't enforce your opinion onto other. This had point of scholarly consensus for years until only recently. Even if you believe that there is a difference of opinion, you should know about the concept of "la inkara fi masail al khilaf" (there is no condemnation in matters of genuine difference).
