That admirer play was so good, because it immediately hard confirmed 3 people (6, and himself, and then also 5 because seer's results are now totally trustworthy) Although that doomsayer was sleeping. If he was paying attention he could've won N2.

@@citrineconjurer the game needs to not hard out them, like deputy and prosecutor don't need to have everyone alerted to who they are. For a game about social deception it sure does a lot to make it so you can't deceive people.

Admirer/Seer is actually a powerful combo as long as they are both protected. Seer just has to pick people and their own partner. Since they and their partner are confirmed, it can easily confirm roles.

If you increase your volume or have headphones on, you can hear that the new music is slightly different from that of ToS 1.

I can see dreamweaver + jinx being pretty good, where the jinx would go on the dreamweaved person and kill the person trying to cure them.

In wolvesvile, Illusionist is a NK that at night, does a frame to players (can be protected against), will be seen as illusionist to informer roles. During the discussion phase on the day, he can kill all framed players. Illusionist kills will be shown as Illusionist (which works like a forger except it's unlimited but you cant choose what you want them to appear as.)and they cannot be revived.

Arsonist in wolvesvile is similar except that his ignite is instantaneous and he can douse 2 players per night (but cannot douse visitors and doused player's result do not show as Arso)

So In practice illusionist is an arso that ignites during the day, and their arso is just very different all together, interesting.

I feel like if you need to make TI exclusions for ritualist/doomsayer, then maybe those guessing roles shouldn't exist in the first place. Exclusions and exceptions just make things messy.

Though it's a pretty simple and logical exception. Besides, doomsayer is according to a lot of people the funnest role in the game, and both of them add a whole new layer of meta.

People could still claim TI and say who is evil who seems inno. That removal on TI guesses was kinda not the right direction, town should just adjust their strategy not to hardclaim their roles. But we'll see.

I think it only makes sense for roles that are publicly revealed (e.g. prosecutor, deputy, admirer) to not be guessable. TI being part of that is too big of an exception and greatly reduces the risk of sharing information, which is one of the more interesting parts of ToS 2 over 1 imo. It's 100% possible to cleverly push people and get information without revealing your exact role, and it's arguably a way more fun way to play as a TI since they are a lot more boring this game.

The more I see astral visits, the more I think town needs a tp who only protects against astral. It will give pause to rits and dooms who just have a free twofer with Admirer in the game. And yes, Rit gets called out if he fails but there are like 4 roles who hard confirm, and two who are soft (Monarch and Amne).

I had a game where I was Conjurer and I had an illusionist on my team. Other was a Jinx. Illusionist carried the game on their back. I may have messed up some of the commentary (being loud and having sentences not finished etc.) But I enjoyed that game.

I was just thinking as the Jailor was upped, tp in TOS2 can refer to both town protect and town power, so that might need to be specified or changed in future when people claim. Alternatively, it can be a good cover for town power roles since people may misinterpret them as town protect.

On the other hand, ritualists and doomsayers get easy kills because TIs have to post so they can find the evils. But I can see your point for when it gets later into the game and if somehow a TI lives, then Ritualists and Doomsayers cannot target them. They should be up for grabs by like night 3 or 4. Long enough so they cannot be easy kills and can do their job.

@@Lightna Ehh, they don't HAVE to reveal. There are ways to fake being a different TI, which can throw off Ritualist forcing them to reveal themself if they target you with a wrong guess. Psy probably the hardest to do that with though, but is also the strongest of all TIs.

I feel like they didn’t let the guess players mechanic simmer long enough, like ToS is just use your team’s mechanics to win with minimal SOCIAL DEDUCTION. Role categories exist for a reason, simply say “I’m TI and my role suggests that so&so can this&that”. If dreamweaver and ritualistic had MORE repercussions from guessing incorrectly it would be fine. Biggest problem is the player base just not wanting this mechanic so they can vfr 😴😴😴 I’m glad that the devs dislike that to a certain extent.

Ritualist is still unhealthy for the game, it makes roles whose entire shtick is to get confirmed to work into single-day roles no matter what town does. Mostly self-confirmers like mayor, prosecutor or admirer, but also to a lesser extent vet or TS roles. Same goes for doomsayer. I still think doomsayer being forced to guess 3 randoms each night instead of choosing who to guess is the best way to prevent doomsayer from tarnationing town whenever it appears.
