Townes and I were buddies. We hung out in NYC bars and apartments, passed the guitar and swapped songs. I miss that sombitch like a brother.

One of my very favorites. Townes is in great form in these videos, relaxed and healthy. The song strikes a deep chord in me, and I find myself singing bits of the lyrics under my breath when circumstances warrant: "Skies full of silver and gold--try to hide the sun, but it can't be done-least not for long".....a reminder to find the beauty in the moment and the trouble WILL pass, just hang on...at least that is what it does for me. And the song itself is often the beauty of the moment.

Just when you count yourself immune to the effect. A Townes song makes you cry again.

Townes is equal with Dylan and no one else is even close to those two... I'll sing that 'til the day I die.
